I recently purchased a 7100 controller and love it but as all us crazy HT people are I'm wondering what is the difference between the 7100 and the C2? Would it be an enormous difference in sound quality? Or to get an enormous difference i would have to go to the C1? I am curious because a friend asked if i had any extra HT equipment for sale. So i was thinking sell the 7100 and turn the profit into the C2 but only if it makes a profound difference. Its being used with a HCA1205A 5 channel amp. Thanks J.h.

Sonically the C1 and C2 should be the same. The only differences are the bigger box, the LCD and a more powerful power supply in the C1.
Keep in mind that with the C1/C2 you're paying money for the balanced connectors. If using unbalanced (RCA) connectors, you will be leaving part of your investment unused...

J.H., first welcome to the Guide and Club Parasound!
My own personal guess is that you would experience a noticeable difference upgrading from the 7100 to the C1/C2, but not dramatic. A dramatic difference would be going from another brand up to the C1/C2. As good as the 7100 is, you're not going to get a profound difference with the C1/C2.
Your call if it would be worth it to you or not, depending on what you could get for your 7100.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

Thanks guys i'm only going to do this if it makes a big difference otherwise its just not worth the trouble. The 7100 is incredible i bought it at audioadvisors.com and it was a B-stock with a full warranty at a great price. I love Parasound stuff. The only thing I think the 7100 is missing is DVD-AUDIO bass management. I'm getting little to no bass out of my sub. Thats the only thing my denon receiver did well. The Parasound 7100 kicks the Denons butt in every way though. Do you think it would be wise to get the Outlaw Audio ICBM bass management piece? Thank you for welcoming me. Sincerely J.H.- Bottom

I'm not using my balanced connectors since none of my sources have balanced connectors. Does it make a difference to use them on the amps? if you have both the balance and RCA connected to the amps, do you have an option to switch between balanced and RCA connections?

by Pookie007I am working on a system for my next projects work apartment. I was considering ether a Parasound 7100 processor or the Halo C2. I know the 7100 lacks balanced outputs, but that isn't in issue for the second system since I won't have balanced amps. Beyond that, are there any significant differences...-

by WadsbrauI am trying to wrap my head around LFE, and subwoofer levels and how they interact with the 7100. I completely understand what LFE is. However, I am not sure how the 7100 settings for Subwoofer level (in speaker setup menu) and the LFE level interact with the 7100. Subwoofer level generally sets...-

by mlbrandI am in the market for a new pre/pro, and am considering (in no particular order) the Parasound 7100, the Sunfire TGIV, and the Anthem AVM-30.
A friend of mine heard the Parasound 7100, and he thought the high end was a little too laid back. Has anyone else thought this?

by tboooeHi, I have been struggling with my setup for some time now. I have not been happy with the imaging, soundstage, and stereo separation. Unfortunately, due to room constraints I am not able to place the speakers where ever I want them. Initially, I had them set up about 5 ft apart with a sitting distance...-
