    C2 trouble in paradise

I've been experiencing problems with my C2 operating with balanced interconnects with an A51 amp. The rear channels seem to work intermittently with no particular pattern. The problem is resolved when I do a system reboot with the toggle switch only to materialize again a couple of days later. In addition, the center channel cuts in and out at random and rebooting has no effect. This occurs in both digital and bypass modes. Anybody experiencing similar problems? The unit is on its way to Parasound, but Tony didn't seem very confident that the problem could be resolved due to its intermittent nature. BTW he also said that if I wanted them to perform the software update, I would be charged for it.

    Any advice would be appreciated

What version of software did you have on it?

I purchased the equipment about a year ago, so I assume its the version previous to the version that has been posted on the website. I'm currently on the road, so can't verify yet. After doing a search on this site, I read your thread regarding a problem with certain capacitors. The symptoms you describe sound a lot like what I've been experiencing.

It could be that...but that problem was corrected in May of 2003, right after Halo was initially released.

You can probably ask Parasound based on your Serial #, they likely know when it was sold and whether ot not it could have the capacitor issue.

Alan, did you get your issue resolved? I hope you asked Parasound... they provide superior customer service when consulted.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

Counting Crows' song "Paved Paradise, put up a Parking Lot"
            by Chris D
Need a bit of help, guys. I really like the mellow song that has the main phrase in the chorus of "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot". I'm pretty sure that the Counting Crows recently released this song, but I'm also thinking that this was redone, and another artist originally wrote...

            Experiencing Problems with Zhd
            by jsetliff
I have had my Zhd installed for about a week now and have experienced the same problem about once a day. The Zhd is connected to the C1 using the supplied RS232 cable. I have three of the five HDMI inputs in use. About once a day, the Zhd switches from the currently selected input to no selected...

            Hi,
Anyone know if the consistency issues some were seeing with these tweeters have been resolved?

            RSP-1570 - Issues All Resolved?
            by deaconblues
I will be purchasing a Rotel RSP-1570 pre/pro next week....if the issues that I've been reading about have been resolved.
Could somebody who owns a 1570 let me know how pleased (or displeased) you are with the unit and why.
            Thanks very much.

            Regards,
            Rick

Current Halo software version and update issues
            by Chris D
I talked with Paul at Parasound today, and got some good info on the update issue. Apparently yes, the current version available is 6.42. Version 6.49 was developed, but bugs were found, and it is not currently available to the public. If anyone inadvertently has version 6.49, they should contact Parasound...
