Heheheeee... the hints just keep dropping. Nice.

Yes, there are certain qualities to the magnetic planar that I prefer. However, as always, YMMV.

They look similar, but don't have the same bottom plate as the Quads.

No. Quad 989's are small in comparison - only 4' 5" high.

The answer is: Those are Soundlab Millennium-1 full range electrostats. Here's a Stereo Times article with a picture of the same hotel room that confirms it. (Easy to find once you know the name of the speaker :B )

FWIW, the Millennium-1 is only ONE inch taller than the MG20.1. Brent, you have an excellent perception of height :W

The ones in the picture with Bob Crump are Van Medevoort EE150's, correct?

My previous system had a Yamaha RX-V3000 receiver that I used as a processor, with a Yamaha MX-830 driving the left/right channels, and a pair of Amber Series 70 amps (c. 1978!) on the center/rears.

Speakers are Martin Logan Ascents, Theater, Descent, and Boston Acoustics in wall for...

I have spent the past 2 years getting my previous Sony ES (TA-E9000ES/2 TAN-9000ES) system fine tuned to sound it’s best, and just a few weeks ago I felt I had finally had achieved this goal. I was thoroughly convinced that there would be little if no difference in just switching out Processors, especially...

We'll see if anybody gets any use out of this. I've attached several files in zip format for our club members here. Just click on the attached files at the end of the post if you'd like any of them. I figured that there might be someone that could find a file or two useful, perhaps to either set...

                Future Halo Upgrades Coming
                by Chris D
I was talking to my contact at Parasound today, and got on the topic of upgrades. I thought everyone might be interested that Parasound **IS** working on some software upgrades for the Halo processors that are being described as "fun", not operationally essential. When they come out (no timeline...
