Wow, does this thing deliver the bass! Actually, it's a bit much for the room I have it in now, but I believe it will be around for a long time, so I didn't want to go too small.
Ahh, you beat me to it by a few hrs. He said it was pending when I messaged him.

Sorry, Race Car Driver! He actually lives about 20 minutes from me, so I was able to work out a local pickup. Definitely an advantage when the thing weighs over 105 pounds. A little tough to wrestle in the house, but I made it. :T

That thing has to be a monster. If you decide to sell it let me know

                              HI chinets,
Good for you!! That's how to get good, clean bass. Just to satisfy my own curiosity, what is your room size? And how do you like your bass? Do you ever feel the subs ever run out of dynamic range?

                                      Karma's answer!!!!!!!!!!

                                      Hi Karma,
Size of my TV room is 9 meters x 7 meters and they are placed at the sides between the 803s in the front and the 804s at the rear with a sofa in between. So yes ,real STEREO here.
The Bass is awsome and in HT i can feeel the room move ,or the air of a wind travelling through my room,or the air flying pass me if there is a car scene or a car chase ...JUST SENSATIONAL. In Music it is perfect, Dynamic and full smooth low warm bass. Mind you I have excellent acoustics in my room too ,so that could also help the Subs do there perfect job.
Both subs NEVER EVER run out of Dynamics. Sometimes too much Dynamics in HT if the DVD was not mastered properly, otherwise Not at all!!
How about you my dear Sparky??

How about you my dear Sparky??
                                                      Ciao Amigos,
                                                      Chinets :T
                                                      HI chinets,
I lost track of this thread so I never answered your question. Sorry, I didn't intend to ignore another dual sub user :T .

Mine are dual ASW800's which use 12" drivers. I believe you have dual ASW855's with 15" drivers. My bedroom is much smaller than your room measuring 15X12X8 feet. The subs are placed along the 15 foot wall directly behind my stand mounted 805S's.

The 855's sound appropriate for your large room. I can imagine you have amazing bass both because of the subs and the room size. In my case, ultimate bass performance is limited by the small room. The dual 800's are probably about right for this room. Despite the room limitations, the bass is very good going loud and deep without obvious distortion. I had to go on a "loose things in the room" campaign to quiet things down during serious bass passages.

As you may know from my previous posts (and soap boxing) I have 805S's which are by their nature bass shy. I would never buy those speakers unless I planned to couple them with good subs. I love bass. The 800's pair up very nicely with the 805S's; almost like they were made for one another. The integration is good and the entire sonic presentation seems to be cut from a single piece of cloth. I really can't ask for much more.

In my system, the subs must cover a larger frequency range due to the bass limitations of the 805S's. Thus, the subs must be somewhat agile in order to integrate with the main speakers. I have the 800's crossed over at 47Hz and the 805S's are run full range for music. In this respect, I think the 800's would work better than your 855's in my situation because the subs must reach higher in frequency. For HT I use the processors high pass filter for the 805S's set at 40Hz. This is only to protect the speakers from outlandish bass levels. The crossover frequency remains the same.

I think we both have made the right subwoofer decisions. I think most folks expect too much from their subs and end up being under "woofed" (is that a word?).

Sorry for this long delayed response, Sparky

My living room is medium to large and I could have used the extra power/woofer size for tighter bass to fill the space. Same mistake for my centre channel, but that is a discussion for another thread. Question though, does anyone advocate the use of one of those dedicated subwoofer interconnects or is it fancy ad hype and you would get the same or better performance with a higher end interconnect. ;x(

I´ve had as6, asw300, asw 650, asw 675 and now a asw 750, I´m hoping to buy a house next year, so I might just get another asw 750. I´m so happy with asw750, it has the same specs as the asw825, and here in Sweden the class the asw 750 as a high end sub, but most of all, it´s a fantastic sub. :T
