    B&W Leisure Monitors

I'm considering my first B&Ws and could use some guidence. I need to save space so am looking for a sub/sat combo. I listened to the LM1 sats and was very impressed with the sound quality for such a small speaker. I'm wondering if anyone has used these as fronts AND rears and has comments. I'm also wondering what the audible difference between the LM1 and the VM1 is since they appear to have the same guts (considering putting these up front). Anybody out there with either setup?

I split my time between music and movies, so I need a well rounded system. I would be pairing either of these up with the ASW-600 sub and most likely the LCR-3 for the center.

    Thanks.

I wouldn't advise using a different center speaker with the LM/VM series.
I think the best setup with this series would be 5 VM1's, with a sub of your choice.
Or you can get 3 VM1's for the front + center channels, and add LM1's as rears if you prefer.
Or 4 LM1's and a VM1 as center, there are lots of possibilities.
Either way, don't mix an LCR3 with the VM series, it'll ruin the sound consistency.

Thanks for the response. The dealer I was working with didn't have any VM1s set upi for me to listen to. How much difference is there between the LM1 and the VM1?

        Def Tech Pro 80 vs. B&W VM1 - which?
        by pcrocett
I installed the Def Tech ProMonitor 80s with (Sub and center) about 10 days ago. Depending on the source, sometimes they sound fantastic, other times not stellar (perhaps I don't have the crossover right yet). They sound nice with Jazz and Classical, but just ok with Pop. (99.9% of my music comes...

Help, My VM1's just blew up!
        by AngusUK
After years of good service, my front VM1's seem to have been destroyed. OK, they are sometimes driven quite hard but my amp (Sony ST-DB930) only has 100W per channel which would seem a good match to the 100W VM1. Both speakers seem to have been destroyed, and music now sounds like a few grains of...

CDM9NT and LCR6S2 and LM1 - Can they form a home theater system?
        by BooBoo
        Hi folks,

My father and I are new to the home theater systems. We recently came across a dealership who had discontinued its B&W line of speakers. They still have couple of older model of B&W speakers which they are still selling. They recommended us the following B&W speakers...

        B&W DM600S3 vs LM1
        by dan87951
Which speakers do you prefer for rear surround duty or even for a small bookshelf system in the home office (600S3 or LM1)? I had a pair of DM600S3's before and they sounded great for there size but the little LM1's remind me of a miniture 802 with the bubble tweeter on top, thought I might give them...

        B&W MM1 or LM1?
        by Alex999
        Hey guys,
I'm looking for a new pair of speakers for my desktop computer. I'll probably try to buy a used pair from here or Audiogon. I'm wondering if you can advice the difference in quality and your own experience. New MM1 goes for $499.00 at my local B&W reseller in Calgary, but I've seen...
