    B&W 703 missing serial numbers

I've recently purchased a nice pair of second-hand B&W 703 speakers in rosenut as a replacement for my black 703s. Now I was installing the new 703s and noticed something very weird: the stickers on the terminal tray for the new speakers have a very odd arrangement and are both missing the serial numbers. Normally you have a sticker with the model type and the serial number; the stickers on mine are both different and only indicate model type and both in a different fashion. Any thaughts on this?

Replacement crossovers do no include serial numbers. I would imagine that the logo portion could have changed over time to. Actually, the bottom pic looks like a production crossover (serial number goes between the 703 and the dash), and the top pic could be later issue replacement.

I would imagine if someone were to purchase replacements, two pulled off the shelf could have either sticker. I had a pair of 685's with replacement crossovers with no serial numbers. If you heard the story one why both were replaced you wouldn't believe it.

So if they sound good and like your old pair, go with it. It's only 4 screws to pull and verify they are legit B&W crossovers. I'm pretty sure they have it screen-printed on the board.

After doing some research I think both stickers are cut out versions of original stickers. The why elludes me though. Have unscrewed one of the trays to check inside but the crossover is larger than the hole and does not fit through out the back. Could only see that the printboard was green before I started worrying about pulling wires loose by pulling on the board. Believe the wires are soldered on at the crossover end and not clamped so that should not be a problem but still..
Decided to just let it be. They sound awesome to me (same as my previous 703s) so I'm happy.

          Help With Serial Numbers
          by Jody
I was hoping somenbody here might be able to interpret the following serial number for a RSP-1066.

          FR019713081118239A

As the new 1068 is soon to arrive I can get a pretty decent deal on a 1066 demo that the store here in town has.

          I was wondering based on...

          B&W serial numbers
          by audiojunky
I recently got a brand new B&W 804s and noticed that that serial numbers at the back were something like 0003xx7 and 0003xx8

Does that mean that that only around 4000 odd B&W 804s speakers (or 2000 pairs) have been built all over the world till date?

          That seems...

Might buy a used set of 703 speakers. Anything to lookout for?
          by Oofie
          Hi guys,

I'm new here and wanted to hear your knowledge / experience with B&W speakers.

I might purchase a used set of 703 speakers, and while I know they have been around since 2004 (?), is there anything that I should look out for? Will they still sound good 10 years...

          Serial Number Question
          by AB11
Ok. I cannot get to the back of my amps but I need to know the serial numbers.
I can get to the boxes and I assume they have the serial numbers on them.
On each box there are 2 bar coded numbers - top one quite long with alphas bottom one not so long and lacking alphas.
          Can somone...

          CDP-300 drive replacement...
          by kpodolski
I bought a (used) CDP-300 a while ago (and I absolutely love it!). The CDP-300 (and I believe all Classe CDP players) uses a TEAC DV-28SL-R93 slot load drive.

Now, there is nothing wrong with my CDP but I just wanted to have a back-up drive if/when my CDP drive ever fails. A quick...
