    Pairing Signature Diamonds with Subwoofer?

    All,
    I have just gotten some Signature Diamonds which I am considering as replacements for my 800d. Not surprisingly they sound like much smaller speakers, the room is less filled with music and they disappear less than the 800d. So while I may like the 800d more I have to reduce the visual footprint of the speakers........
    The besides the signature diamonds not moving as much air they have - as expected - a lot less to offer in the lower frequencies - thus my question - has anybody paired them up with a reasonably small subwoofer.
    Another question - I am using the CP-700/CA 2200 combination to drive them - has anybody paired them up with a tube amplifier?

      As a owner of one pair od Signatures all I can say they CAN disapper in room, completely! It's all about room acoustics and propper speaker placement.

      I tried several tube ampliferes, both push pull and single ended and neither of them provided level of sound that solid state did. I'm also driving them with CA-2200 (CP-800 as a preamp/DAC and MacMini/HiFace EVO as a source).

      My plan for the next year is Signatures integration with two subwoofers and taking full advantage of CP-800 bass managment. Wish me luck!

      In the meantime, I'll be happy to read others experience about this subject but somehow I'm sceptical about it.

          I have listened to the Signature Diamonds on a number of occasions and they are sweet sounding speakers that were designed for stereo listening. At the dealer, we were discussing what type of sub woofer would integrate with these speakers. The general concensus was to find a sub woofer that is very musical. They connected one of B&W's 10" powered subs and it sounded very good. I think you may want to consider going with a 10" driver as opposed to one that is larger, and may overpower the sweet mids and highs that this speaker produces.

              Lots of people think REL or JL Audio are the best choices for a musical / well matched subwoofer with B&W. I have an REL G1 that does a great job.

                  I have a pair of the current 802 Diamonds, a Classe CP800 and Classe CA2300.

                  Would I gain anything adding a B&W DB1 to the set up purely for music listening ?

                  The CP800 has a sub out for 2.1

                  I am considering a pair of the signature diamonds. I would place them in an HT system but also use them for serious two channel listening as well. they would be driven by my trusty old Mark Levinson No. 23 amp and have a Classe ssp 800 to serve as a preamp processor.
