what would be better for movies in 5.1ch system: new 685 or used 705?
planning to use them as front and rear channels

I'd go with the used 700's, assuming similar cost. I've not heard good reviews of the HTM61, making the HTM7 a much better choice. The 705's would be a perfect match, with improved sound quality over the 685’s. Of course, when purchasing used, I like an audition to assure the quality, or at least very good feedback.

FYI, there is a glowing review of the B&W CM5 in the December issue of Stereophile. It will end up on their web site eventually, but for now is just in the printed copy.

Edit: I see now that I posted too quickly, as you did not mention the CM5...however, it may be another good option for you.

CM 5 very good, I listened them, but they are quite expensive. The retail price in russia are 2000 usd per pair and 1700 for center...

I can try to look at used but I'm afraid it will be difficult to find two pairs and center in one color

In that case I would vote 705s as well. I used to have the predecessor, the CDM 1NTs (with a CDM CNT center), and they were very nice speakers.

What about CM2+CMC? They are not too small for the rotel rmb-1075?
