    nimrodasas,

The 804Di's are very good speakers. And you have paired them with a very nice and powerful integrated amp. That should be a very nice sounding system.

As for getting some 803Di's, they will give you better bass and soundstage. And some improvements in clarity and dynamics. However, I'm not sure that you will get a big jump in performance with the 803Di's. The MF would drive them nicely. But the 803D's would be better off with a more powerful stereo amp. That combo would be very good.

My suggestion is to save your money and make a big jump. Go to 802Di's.
I was in your shoes. I had 804's. Was deciding if I should to to 803's. But, the best move was to save and then get the 802D's, which is what I did. 802's (and up) are really awesome speakers.

One other thing to consider is room treatments. They do not cost nearly as much as new speakers and amps, but the impact can be as if you did.

    Hope this helps.

I say go for the 802Di too! And then use your 804Di for rears.... If I was going to upgrade from my 804S's, I'd be going 802Di's myself.

I also say skip the 803 Diamonds and go for the 802 Diamonds and if you can keep 804 Diamonds for your rears definitely do that.

As for an amp, with the 802 Diamonds I recommed as much power as you can afford. Some amps people here use are Bryston 4BSST squared (or higher i.e 7BSST squared/14BSST squared), Classe CA-2300 (or CA-M300 or CA-M600) and McIntosh MC302 (or higher i.e MC452, MC501 or MC601).

I myself use the one generation removed Bryston 4BSST C-Series. I would love to add a pair of 7BSST squared amps some day to power my 802 Diamonds. Granted I could consider the 28B SST squared amps but at 1000 watts feeding a 500 watt speaker plus the amps cost more than the 802 Diamonds themselves that kind of money would be better spent elsewhere in the system. It would make for one big down payment on a pair of 800 Diamonds

I have never had an opportunity to hear the DB1 but others who own them say it blends very well with the 800 series and was designed with the 800 series in mind. So based on that I say it's a very wise and safe choice.

Personally when I started the move back in the Spring from a complete Paradigm system to the B&W Diamond series and knowing I would like to have multiple identical subs down the road (I currently have 2 Paradigm Reference Servo 15a's and a Paradigm Signature Sub25) I never found myself interested in the DB1. When I'm looking at subs I always keep looking at Paradigm, JL Audio and Velodyne but that's just me. I read the specs of the DB1 and I just can't see how it could possibly compete with the likes of the Paradigm Sub 25 or JL113 let alone a Paradigm Sub 2 or JL Gotham.

                    nimrodasas,

The DB1 would be a nice addition. But at $4500, I believe there are better, less expensive options.

I would recommend JL Audio. I have a Fathom F112 ($2800). It is a reference sub. Quite musical, and very visceral for home theater.

Your budget would allow an F112 or F113 ($3600). Or possible a pair of F110's ($2100 each). Stereo subs would be awesome.

                    Hope this helps.

I visited two high end AV dealers today to make my final decision as to which pair of speakers I would buy for the stereo system that I'm putting together. This sytem will be used primarily for playing LPs and will initially consist of the following: Aragon 24K II preamp with phono stage, or a Classe...

Just visited the newsagent today and noticed a hifi magazine had an "exclusive" review of the 804D. I think it was hifi world, but I don't see it on line anywhere so I could be wrong (may need to go back and check), I only flicked through but it was not a long read.

                        I have...

I was a very happy owner of 803D loudspeakers for over 3 years - so happy in fact that I ended up owning 3 pairs over that time. Long story, but in short the first pair was replaced by B&W after I discovered a relatively minor veneer flaw (huge kudos to B&W support :T ). The second pair I...
