    Center for N805

I posted this in another forum but would appreciate your comments....

My current setup includes N805 for the fronts, HTM2 center and SCM1 for surrounds. I would like to replace the HTM2 to match the color of the fronts which got me to asking myself whether I should go with the HTM1 instead.

Would this be a good idea or should I stay with the HTM1?

Would the room correction in my Anthem reduce / eliminate any timber or other matching issues?

    I run 50% / %50 music / HT.

(I know they are getting a little "long in the tooth" but I really like the sound.)

    larry in keller,

First of all, welcome to the forum! :T

You have a very nice set up. You pose a good question. If you are intent on getting a replacement for the center channel, it's logical to think of the next level.

I've owned the HTM1. It is a wonderful speaker. It has excellent soundstage, and really good bass. It's essentially an N804 on its side.

It's physically big, so make sure you have space for it.

The HTM1 is part of the Nautilus line, as are your N805's. I would not have any worries about timber and matching.

The HTM1 would really kick up your HT and mutli-channel music.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input. I guess that I'll up the budget a bit and give it a try if I find a good one on the market.

N805 & HTM2: Should They Sound The Same?
        by steelgtr
I bought a used trio and have had them for 2 weeks. At times, I have been noticing that the htm2 sounds a little muddier and less clear than I had hoped.

When I change my center speaker setup from small to none and route the center to one of the mains, the 805 does sound brighter and...

Center Speaker Question; HTM4S or 805S?
        by sskim
I'm in need of a center speaker to match 805S. Question is what is the best match for 805S? Is there a noticeable difference between HTM4S and HTM2? Since I'm on tight budget does anyone see problem matching HTM2 with 805S? I also read that having three identical speakers for front L/C/R is the...

Center and Rears For Signature 805s
        by bullitt731
I just bought a set of the Signature 805s in the Red Birdseye Maple. I am not sure which center or rear surround speaker was designed to match this particular speaker the best. Was it the older HTM1, the older HTM2, or the new HTM4 for the front. I have seen several different models used as rear surrounds...

        receiver VS seperates
        by Ash
        Just a simple question fellas.

We all know that seperates give better performance than a receiver. However, since I have to order all of my equipment, I can't test these two options myself.

The question is how much better would be the performance of a combinations such...
