Fair Price To Sell My 802D's

So, I've decided to sell my 802Ds - opened up an Audiogon account and I'm getting ready to post the pics.

What is a fair price to ask for these? They're 9 of 10. I've seen them selling as low as 7k and as high as 9k. Am I in the right ball park?? Want a quick sale....

    Thanks for the help!!

The Audiogon Bluebook average price is $9,580.00, so 9K is fair. I have one suggestion. If you have an eBay account with good positive feedback, you should include your username there so that prospective buyers can check your rep. I would be wary of making such an expensive purchase from an Audiogon seller with zero feedback. Positive eBay feedback demonstrates that you at least have some track record of fair dealings with buyers.

Based on the 9/10 condition the price Ive noticed on 802D runs between $8K to $9K over the last several months.

          Help with a selling decision

So, my 802s are up on Audiogon - an interested party offered me $6500. I'm asking $8000. The good thing is that it's a local pick up so I dont have to worry about shipping, however that's kind of on the low side.

I've never sold anything on-line and the speakers have only been there for two days.

Should I wait for a few more days and see if a better offer comes up or should I let them go for $6500?

How long are items on Audiogon before they sell?

          Thanks for the help.

$6500 would be the lowest Ive heard a pair sell for--depends on how "urgent" you want to sell them--shipping is a PIA for these as they are heavy and if not packed correctly or damage occurs you have an even bigger issue. If mine I would not sell below $7500-my 2 cents.

Two days is too soon to worry about a sale IMO. Some items stay for sale for months before they sell - depends on the demand and asking price. B&W's normally sell quick if the price is fair. The guy who's going to give you your full asking price probably hasn't even logged onto Audiogon and seen your ad yet since you posted it. Just be patient if you want more than the $6500 offer. If you're comfortable with taking $6500 and that's all you need to put towards and get your new speakers and it's an easy local sale, then go for it. I sold off my last speakers for lower than average prices because I was also urgent to get my new ones and didn't feel like waiting it out. If you where local and they where rosenut I'd snag them up in a heartbeat! Actually, at that price, I could care less about color!

I recently sold a Classe pre-amp on Audiogon for 10% less than I was asking, and my asking price was fair but not giving it away. My first several offers were also low. Tell the first offer what your bottom line price is and put the ball back in his/her court.

I have also been watching the prices on Audiogon and $6500 for the 802D speakers would be a steal. It works both ways for a local sale and is an advantage for both the buyer and seller to not have to worry about shipping and damage and also allows the buyer to see, hear, and touch the speaker before he buys it.

If I were you, I would suggest a bottom price to the local buyer of $7,000 to $7,500 and if he takes it great, and if not, I would think that another buyer will come along in the next few days or weeks that will gladly offer that price. I think that $7,000 is $500 to $1000 below market value but reflects the convenience and time saved you by selling locally.....

Thanks so much for the guidance. Because the potential buyer is local, I lowered my price to 7k - but then he came back with 6.5.

I think it's a steal and silly to let these puppies go over $500. Thankfully, I'm in no rush to sell.

Thanks again for the help/guidance. That's why I love this site....

Wow 7K is still a steal, those would go in a flash.

Unless your really in need of the cash, I wouldn't sell short on such great speakers. Put them at the fair blue book price and they will eventually sell. Those 802's are classics so no issue finding a buyer.

So I came across this classified on rosenut CM9s for a damn nice price. What do I see? I see that some guy posted his for sale ad with a picture of my setup! I have seen this several times on ebay where people have stolen various pictures that I or others have taken, and listed auctions passing off...

Hi all. I currently have a B&W CM setup, but the local dealer is offering me a pretty great opportunity to upgrade. He is willing to let me trade-in any or all of my gear at the same cost that I paid for it and put the money toward a new system. However, I only have until May (when I have to move...

First, let me say that I have made 12 transactions using Audiogon and have excellent feedback. All went without a hitch but, most were with local pickups. One advantage to living in such a large urban area, no problem finding local buyers or sellers.

On Friday, Oct 7, I had the winning...

                        by dan87951
So I see a set of speakers for sale on audiogon from a new seller (0 feedback)that I want to buy and I email the seller. I get a response back and he says I was the first one to email him and that he will wait for my response until he sells to someone else. So we work out a deal and he agrees to it....

Hi, new here but a long time Rotel fan. I've decided to finally replace my RSX-965 with a 1055. I have no need for the added features of the 1056 and it is beyond my budget.

What's a fair price for a new and used 1055? My dealer has an open box unit with full warranty. Haven't had...
