    Pre Out Problems

I have connected my AVR,S Pre Outs (FRONTS} to a stereo power amp,to
improve the sound on pair of b&w cm9s. But I cant control the volume
with the remote or the volume knob. The power amp has no volume control
I m using the unbalanced connections on both the AVR and power amp

    Any ideas anyone

Sounds like a problem with the AVR because that should work fine. So you are getting sound but no control over it, right?

What model is it and how old is it (both AVR and power amp)? Is it still under warranty? You may need to reach out to the manufacturer.

I rechecked my connections and found I accidently used the multi channel inputs instead of the pre outs

That was going to be my suggestion, to check where you plugged in the cables.
