This is no April Fools Joke folks. During the next couple of days, we will be picking a day to migrate HTGuide to a new server. We will have the same reliable service we have always had, as we are not changing Hosting Services, only moving to a new updated state of the art server! Support is working to coordinate things right now.
We will announce the date of migration from old server to the new server in due time. We hope to minimize downtime while the DNS propagates to our new IP address, and service is restored. But some downtime is inevitable.
Hi Guys,
Sometime ago it was mentioned that there is someone who travels around the country who really knows calibration of audio gear. Can someone point me towards him or the thread? Thanks,
Ray

Many thanks. How is Jeff? Any personal experience?

I found him to be very professional, knows his stuff, and enjoy talking to you about what he's doing and why he's doing it. He raised the level of my system by at least 3 levels. I was very pleased with his work.

I'm sure that he will have no problem helping you with that. Just contact him and let him know what you want to do.

My primary reason for having Jeff come in was to calibrate my projector which he did an absolutely fabulous job. The first guy that came in to calibrate my projector was in and out in about 45 minutes. I really wasn't pleased with his work, and he didn't really seem to know what he was really doing. I guess when he started saying "I think" and "maybe", and "I don't know why" were enough for me to conclude that I had the wrong guy. However, when Jeff showed up, he spent about 3 hours just on the projector. Jeff is very detail and knows how the picture is suppose to look, and he didn't stop until he reached that goal. He comes in with very expensive professional gear. After that, he checked out my sound system and found out that I had a polarity problem which he corrected. He did proceeded to dial in my subs, via the built-in eq, to integrate more smoothly with the rest of my system. He spent about 7 hours working on my system to make sure I was very happy with everything that he did. He also took the time to explain everything that he was doing and why he was doing it.

I need help from someone who really know how to set up a multichannel system...
I have used a sound pressure meter to adjust the soundpressure from all my speakers based on the noise generation in both my dvd player (when using 7.1 channel) and the noise generation...
I had the opportunity to test out a Studio Experience Cinema 20HD LCD front projector last night. Here I will post my impressions after playing with it for a few hours. It will be installed in the owner's home this weekend.
Set-up was a cinch. I connected my Sony DVP-S9000ES...
Well, I finally sealed up the calibration on my 56H80 and thought I would share my results. What follows is a review of the TV itself and the results of the calibration.
As many are aware, the 56H80 is the latest model of Toshiba's 56" 16x9 set. After suffering at the hands of downconversion...
I'm trying to calibrate my 5.1 Era speaker system, powered by my Rotel 1560 and sourced by my Oppo BDP-83 bluray player. All interconnects are quality HDMI cables.
I've used the Rotel test tones as well as the AIX audio calibration bluray, measured on my trusty Radio Shack SPL. Here's...
