    Someone who knows speakers

I had been waiting for a new line of HTD speakers to come out since the last set of lvl4's sold out long ago.

Well the new ones just showed up on the website http://www.htd.com/ . I am not an expert so can someone else tell me if these look like a good deal.

The original lvl4's are in the clearance link. I am comparing those to the new lvl3's that they are showing.

I am just looking for some intro speakers until I make the journy into building my own. These are mostly for theater use in a 7.1 system which I currently allready have just some rear surround in walls mounted in my room. So I will be purchasing a 5.1 set.

I am not sure if the new type of woofer design and the ribbon tweeters are going to make these speakers any better than the ones that are on clearance...that is my main question.

    Hi Freon

Sounds like you're making progress with the H.T. :T

I've never heard of that particular brand but I do know there is a few other manufacturers of speakers in that price range. Axiom and another one recently suggested that just slipped my mind. It would be great if they could be auditioned 'first' without obligation just in case they arent exactly what youre looking for.

Your own little movie theatre.....how cool is that! :yesnod:

HTD Speakers, are they any good or are they white van type speakers?
      by mattburk
I am looking for two 5.1 systems for under 1k(give or take a little). I was looking at a klipsch set or a rocket elt set and then I came accross these HTDs via avs forums. I have never heard of them and wanted to know if they are any good.
      Thank You

I have never built a speaker before and thought putting together a pair for my computer would be a good way to learn. I have a panasonic xr25 I could power them with or was thinking about getting T-amps. My current computer speakers are Klipsch Promedia Ultra and want what I build to sound better...

      DPL2 on 7 speakers?
      by Razvan
I've read that the Onkyo 989 can play DPL2 over 7 speakers i.e "if you use Pro Logic II, the rears are run in parallel with the sides so the 2 surround channels are played over 4 speakers." Anyone knows how to do this on the RDC-7? With DPL2 I get no sound from the rear speakers, just from...

      HTD Level Four Speakers
      by efarstad
Hey guys. I find these very interesting. I bought my in-wall speakers for my all house audio system from HTD and every once and a while will cruise back over there to see what's shakin'. Well here's their latest speaker package in a Mappa Burl finish:

      Wonder how they sound?...
