I was surprised to see that they were not as efficient as the 802Ds. The Revels' Sensitivity is 86 vs the 802Ds' Sensitivity is 90 which means you will need more power to drive the Revels. The Revels are nice looking speakers.

            Hello to all,

I understand that the new Di serie is more of an evolution than a revolution. I'm asking if it's worthed to take the hit by upgrading the 802d to 802di or 800 di and the htm2d to htm2di or wait until a real revolution change?

            The upgraditis syndrome...

But i would rather taking this below used for around USD12K :T

Even the Salon Ultima 2 doesnt have the same frequency response.

$12,000 used on Audiogon i would guess? I think I tend to agree, as I have always liked the 801Ds. :T

The only problem is trying to lug these or the 800Ds around due to their enormous weight.

Hmmm I wonder why are you so impressed with those. I auditioned them with a $40,000 CD Player (4 pieces) really expensive pre-amp and then with two sets of amps. Halcros (the big monoblocks DM68s) and some Plinius monoblocks.

The Plinius were much much better than Halcros (first time I hear such a difference in amp) with those speakers and they were indeed great speakers.

However, I would not change my 800Ds for those! No way!

The only speaker that is a welcome change to me and a friend of mine bought is the JBL K2 9800SE and is something I would also like to buy in the future if I can and even the larger ones the Everest!

But no matter what I will never sell my 800Ds! I consider them to be a piece of art!
