    HTM4S replacement...

I'm considering changing my current centre channel (HTM4S) due to height restrictions. Which route do you guys think would result in the smallest sonic deviation from the rest of my system (805S and the SCMS):
    - CM centre 2 / CM centre 1
    - FPM series (FPM4 / FPM5 / FPM6)
    - XTC
    - HTM61 (I did find some disappointing comments on this one though...)

Has someone here combined 800 serie speakers with other series in the front stage?

Curious to hear some opinions; thanx in advance! :T

Out of those, the CMC2 by a long shot. The FPMs are really long in the tooth and are the weakest performers out of that bunch. The XTC is pretty good but isn't as good as the CMC2. The same goes for the HTM61. The CMC2 is the only one that you have listed with a vertically aligned tweeter and midrange which will make all the difference in the world.

I have 804S with HTM61.. I find the HTM61 is not a very good center and would not use this combo. I used to have a CMC as a loaner and it was superior to the HTM61..

If you do decide you want and HTM61, let me know. I want a HTM4S. Maybe we could deal.
      Main System:
      B&W 801D
      Emotiva USP-1 Pre-Amp
      Chord SPM-650 Stereo Amp

      Squeezebox Touch

      Second System:
      B&W CM7
      Emotiva UMC-1
      Emotiva UPA-2
      Oppo BDP-83SE
      Grant Fidelity DAC-09

I agree. That was my thought when reading the original post.
