Some honesty required...are my speakers too much for a 2.8m x 4m room?

Hi All,

Current set up is 803D, HTM2D, 805S, Rotel 1570, 1575, 12" Sunfire HRS sub to name a few........

Current room is 3.3m x 4.7m and it sounds good to me, but the new room (2nd baby forces move to the back of house) is 2.8m x 4m with no rear wall.

Just looking for a straight forward answer............I may have asked a similar question in the past, apologies for repeating myself.......I need to make a decision and it seems silly having kit if this calibre (and money) underperforming in such an environment! :cry:

I think that it is doable. In fact, with some acoustic treatment on the front & side walls to absorb reflections it can be simply fantastic! The 803D & HTM2D = perfect front-end match. You don't need to pump up the volume too much to get great & detailed sound. Go 4 it & enjoy. :T

Sound wise should be fine, but cosmetically it may be a different story.

I'd say you're fine, any speaker larger would be too much, but you're on the safe side of the cutoff.

I will be different then everybody else and say I think it will be too small. With adequate spacing between the walls and the speaker I figure the center lines of your speakers will only be 6 ft apart. I don't think you will get that big image I know those speakers can do.. Add in the HTM2D and there will be almost no separation between channels..

But hey.. What do I know... If you have the equipment and the room already, doesn't hurt to try!

Losing the soundstage/separation is a concern, and I will try as you suggested and bring the front end together as they would ultimately have to sit in the new room, see how that shakes out?

I did try phantom center and it wasnt great
