    used pair of dm601 s2's

Hey guys, so i bought a used pair of DM601 S2's recently. They sound quite good but I noticed that on one of the speakers, there is some slight separation of the dustcap from the woofer. I was wondering if this is something that will cause more damage in the future? If so should I look into getting it repaired? Below is a picture of the woofer itself. Thanks.

You can order a replacement driver if you need to. Probably around a hundo ($100) or so if it bothers you.

Is the cone actually loose there, or just glued slightly off? On the 601 the dustcap and cone should move as one (both glued to the voice coil). As long as they move together you should be fine. If the cone has seperated it either needs to be reglued, or, replaced.

The dustcap isnt loose, in fact its still feels quite rigid and moves along with the cone. So essentially this probably isnt a terribly big issue? Thanks for the replies guys.

can you rotate the driver so the flaw isn't so visible, then you won't have to think about it everytime you look at them. Other thant that I'm sure they are fine.

I don't know how B&W does it, but on most speakers the dustcap is just that, a cap to keep dust out that is glued on after the driver is built. Throw a little (very little) crazy glue or silicone on it if you are worried.

Actually, after looking at the photo, it looks like they are just pressed into place, kind of like a cap on a rotor coverign the nut and bearings. Call B&W and see what they say.

                Hi there people,

Well, the subject says it all...

                Food for thought:
                • The DM601 + ASW675 combo is attractive as I can send the DM601's to the back when getting a pair of floorstanders as fronts (I'll never use a pair of floorstanders as surrounds)

                B&W DM601 S3 speaker/sub match
                by wonderin_y
                Anyone here have a B&W 5.1 setup using DM601 S3's?
I'm considering buying 4 of these along with their LCR-60 S3 for center but don't much care for their matching sub(ASW600).
Any suggestions as to what sub would match up well with the DM601's?

                Hi everyone,

I currently have a pair of DM601s plus LCR60 powered by a Marantz SR7400. I just moved and my furniture is different so I need to buy speaker stands. I didn't use speaker stands before because I have two dogs. I have a little extra money so I was thinking of buying my...

                DM601 S3 box (package) size?
                by newbiemex
Hello, I have my eyes set on a pair of 601 S3 which I can only buy in the US. Taking advantage of a trip I plan to bring them back to Mexico by plane if possible. I don't want to get my hopes up because if the package size of the speakers is too big I won't be able to bring them properly secured,...

I trying to decide on my new system for both music and HT, I really want to match the carver sunfire jr SW with a set a "decent speakers" such as dm601/2 or 602/3 with a lcr60 or 600 center with marantaz 7400/7500. I could save $400-500 on the sub and get higher speakers, but then a lower...
