sunfire jr and dm601/2 or 602/3 with marantaz 7400/7500

I trying to decide on my new system for both music and HT, I really want to match the carver sunfire jr SW with a set a "decent speakers" such as dm601/2 or 602/3 with a lcr60 or 600 center with marantaz 7400/7500. I could save $400-500 on the sub and get higher speakers, but then a lower sub. What do you think?

For $500 more on speakers, you're not going to get much. The 600 series floor standing speakers jump up more than $500. I would actually prefer the 602/LCR600 combination with the sub. The 602 go pretty low so you would have a nice frequency response when combined with the sub. Plus a sub is great with movies. I had 601 with the Marantz 6400 and it sounded really good. I'm sure your planned combo would sound great as well.

I concur a sub is crucial to HT. That being said I currently own the Sunfire Signature Sub and enjoy it, these subs are very placement sensitive.

My story, I had sent in my Sunfire Sig for repair, and my dealer loaned me a Sunfire Jr. I found this sub great for music (very fast), but somewhat lacking in HT (maybe because I was use to the Sunfire Signatures's umph).

      Hope this helps,

        B&W 602 or603

        I'm new to this forum.

I can't decide if I should get the DM602 or DM603 for the for the front speakers. I am going to get the DM601 for the rears and LCR600 for the center. I've listened to both 602/603 several times - the 602 seems 'brighter' - I asked the salesman about this and he...

I have a marantz 7400 + 603 bw +sunfire sub, I want to upgrade my DVD to either a Rotel 1040 or Marantz 6500. There isn't a major price difference, but someone said the rotel has excellent dvd (24-bit/192 kHz ) and the marantz (54MHz/10bit). I will listen to music 50/50. Please give me your opinion...

        B&W 602's is 40W enough?
        by rotel_stereo
        Hello,
        Is 40W enough for B&W 602's? $0W are coming from a Rotel RA02 Integrated.
I had a chance to listen to DM601's with RA02 and it sounded very good except that they lacked the bass that I was looking for. So the dealer suggested thath DM602's will have more bass. But, I do not...

        ATI 7500 or 8500?
        by P-Dub
Okay I need to make a decision within the next couple of days.

To begin, I was going to just get the 7500 for the dual monitor support and DVD play back. Those were the two most important criteria, gaming is a distant 3rd.

But then I looked at pricing and what came with...
