Question , Are they the same?

Hey guy's and gal's, I was wondering if someone could tell me if the midrange and the tweeter of the 801 series 80 are the same as the 802 series 80. They look identical and are housed in the same type of enclosure. I have a chance to pick up two of the heads of 802 series 80 and if they are the same I could keep them for spares. Thanks for any help.

    You can check here.

Just put the model numbers in and you can see if the part numbers are the same.

I tried and it's a no-go. I think they are too old and are not made anymore so the info is not available.

I can tell you that they are the same. Have had both and purchased spare parts for them. They were identical.

Thank you so much. I will pick up those two mid/tweeter assemblies for spare's then.

why buy those unknown quality/condition old drivers from ebay user when you can buy brand new parts from b&w for reasonable price?

u can use matrix 801 S3 midrange kevlor driver on older model. i believe they are like $100 or something each.

I was told by a person at B+W that they no longer have the drivers or tweeters available for the 801-80 and if I used different ones I would have to change the crossovers also. I really don't want to spend to much so I figured if I could get something like what I was looking at I would at least have 2 spare drivers and tweeters. Also how did you know I am looking at the ones on ebay, phychic perhaps???? :E

I have a pair of 802 Matrix Series II speakers which I bought second-hand.

Since I have had the 802's I have noticed that the sound tends to become dull over time, lacking in emotion. I have on a couple of occasions removed the mid/tweeter pod and disconnected the connector. After gently...

I've got an opportunity to get a set of new 2'4's and even a 2.0 center - both in the cherry finish. I also have an opportunity to get the older matrix series B&W 802's series 3, with no center but in near mint condition.

I just today got to listen to the 2.3's since I can't find...

My xmas gift this year was a new old stock pair of 802 FS Series 80 speakers. Can any owne out there help me get a little more bass out of them. They are truley wonderful, just a little lacking in bass. They are driven by a new Denon 3805 and a Denon 2910ci Cd player. It is a duel purpose system, hometheater...

                  WOOFERS WIRED IN SERIES-Help Please
                  by bottlebrush
I am considering building an WWMT, using two 8'' or 10'',4 ohm woofers wired in series to give 8 ohms nominal. Bass performance is very important to me(not boomy, but tight, accurate and punchy). Can anyone give me some serious reasons why this will not be satisfactory, compared to 8 ohm woofers...

Went with a group to Stereo Exchange in NYC to hear their wares. And the new 800 series were there.

Let me just say that to all the people complaining about the way the speaker looks with the silver trim, rest assured that it looks very handsome in person. I think the flash on camera's...
