how often does B&W change its speakers

    Hi all,
    This is my first post!!!

My question is: Does anyone know what is the life cycle of the B&W speakers.
I notice that there have been some revisions in the 800 series, mainly introducing the diamon tweeter.

I am interested in getting into a pair of 804s, that will be a big upgrade for me as right now I have polk rti6(bookshelf speakers).

So I would be interested to know if the 804s will be changing anytime soon.

Any insite into if the 804 will change in looks or get a diamond tweeter?

    Thanks,

If they were going to make an announcement this year, CEDIA would be the place to do it. So wait a few weeks and find out. If not, then you know you have at least a year to go.
I'm just sittin here watchin the wheels go round and round...

That is average. Some have gone longer but that is the typical length of time a version is current. I haven't heard of anything changing in the 800 Series so it will probably another year or so before they update them.

Thanks all. I took the plung today and order a new pair of 804s. I think this are the right size for my room size.
I am very happy, I can't wait to get the call to go and pick them up.

I decided to go with rosewood.
I love the dark brown color, even when cherry eventually will become a bit darker.
Now I am looking for some cables... too many decisions.

Actually that is the fun part. You kind of get bored after you have it all! The expectation is really fun. Enjoy.

                  Hi All,

Just wanted to share my latest experience.

I'm a B&W 804s owner for 1.5 year. Hooked them up from the beginning with Arcam (because at first I wanted to integrate stereo and ht in one system). So I started with the AVR300 and changed them for A90 and P90 bi-amp...

                  Upgraded from 683 to 804s
                  by stuofsci02
I just wanted to share my excitement as to my recent upgrade to 804s (rosenut) from my 683's.

I wasn't planning on doing this upgrade at this time, but with the change in the 800 series I didn't feel I would be willing to shell out for the price increase later. My dealer had one pair...

804s compaired to old 804, amplification

                  Hi,

As you can see I am pretty new here, but not new to B&W speakers since I owned a couple of these (p6, 601s3). I also listend (dreweled) enough at the 804/802/800 in my audio shops. Since i didnt feel the 804 was worth the investment over my old p6 I never got them.

                  Hi All,

I need some help with this one. I currently have a set of 804s that are used 70% for stereo music 30% for HT. For center I have HTM61 which I plan to change to HTM3S if I can find one, and for rears I have a set of Tannoy F1 bookshelfs. I have never had a sub with any of my...

                  Amplification for B&W 804S, HTM3
                  by lawoftrust
                  Dear all,

I consider adding a HTM3 and 805S to my current 804S. Usually I am a Naim addicted but I will not buy an AV2, NAP 175 Amplification (at least not now) but I considered Rotel for the time being appropriate. Would an Rotel RSX 1057 be acceptable for the time being. My main interest...
