Upgraderitus: 805s or new amp first?

    So I'm into buying one of the two mentioned in the titel to accompany my current system, which is;

    B&W cdm1nt
    Rotel RB980bx
    Rotel RC990bx
    Rotel RCD971

Option 1 - Keep the CDM1nt and get an integrated Classe cap-150

Option 2 - Keep the Rotel pre/power amps and go straight to 805s

Which would gain me the most in sound quality?

Yeah I know, buy both... But if you were forced to take one option over the other?

    Thanks :T

I would get the best speakers you can afford and base your system around those.

      thijsvanwettum,

I agree with this. The 805S's are the best bang for your buck. Option 2.

      Hope this helps.

Got my other login working again. I, topic starter, will be posting under Dutch BW for the time coming.

Your choices seem to lean towards a 805s upgrade

I just thought getting a better amp might reveal some audio qualities that could surprise me when keeping the CDM1nt. But I guess that stepping into the world of 800 series would gain me most...

            Thanks guys!

Of course I will get a better amp to work with 805s in the near or distant future, logically depending on budget 8O

              Option 2 indeed.
