I had a pair of CDM1NT and just recently bought a pair of 703. I would like to have a two channel system using all 4 speakers. It would be quite simple: a receiver or separates amp + preamp plus a CD player. There is not a Rotel distributor in my location, so the option of auditioning Rotel equipment is ruled out however I can order Rotel by internet with additional charges of shipping and customs. What they do sell here is Yamaha, Denon and Piooner. Have anyone of you have experiences with those brand names? how do they compare with Rotel? Is Rotel way superior?.

That's interesting, a 2 channel system using 4 speakers. I wouldn't do it, it can only be worse than just using the 2x 703 in stereo. You'd get phase cancellations and augmentation depending on position, and all kinds of weird effects. How about using the cdm1nt as surround speakers with a multi channel source (sacd, dvd-a, dolby digital, dts...)?
As for the amp, a Rotel 1075 or 1095 or 1077 (all multi-channel) would be your best investment. And there are plenty of places to order Rotel gear online, or get it delivered after a simple phone purchase.- Bottom

If you use your CDM1NT with your 703s in stereo mode, then you are going backwards. I would only use a receiver as a pre-amp for the 703'S. For an amp, go and listen to a Sunfire. It will make your 703's, Sing...not Ring. Make sure you take a little time and listen to some amps, it will save you money in the future and headaches now.Originally posted by b&w fanI had a pair of CDM1NT and just recently bought a pair of 703. by ilkoHello!
I have been reading on this forum for sometime now, but I must say that I am rather amazed to see hardly any people posting on stereo setups. I currently use a Rotel RC/RB-1070 combination with two Elac 209JET speakers (German build, www.elac.com). I would very much like to add...-

by WickedI purchased a Rotel RSX-1058 back in 2007 so it is now out of warranty. At the present time the unit does not have any audio output.
I called the local Rotel dealer (Stereo Planet) who suggested I take the unit to a local electronics repair shop to have them check it out since they don't...-

by D1 MeyerI'm new to the forum and will soon be acquiring a new stereo system. Based on the reading I've done, and the friends I've talked to, I expect to base the system on a Rotel pre-amp (RC-1070 or RC-1090), a Rotel amp (RB-1070 or RB-1080), and Paradigm Reference Studio 20 speakers. Unfortunatley, we live...-

by miketHi,
I was wondering if anybody could comment with experience on what I suppose would be a list of rotel preamp's (series 10 only) in order of stereo performance only (e.g. surround sound processors in analog bypass mode). The list goes from best to worse.
1. RC-1090 (but...-

by TaitoHi all, here's one for the Aussies out there. If you've been following the 'Couldn't be happier' thread, then you would know that I've been looking/listening around for a pair of speakers to complete (for now -cables come later) my Rotel-based stereo system.
I summed up my options, and...-
