    803S with MC 352- 4 Ohm Taps?

I have a pair of 803S biwired to a MAC 352. I am using a pair of Catcables. I've read some posts on other forums about B&W speakers sounding "Better" in the 4 ohm taps than the 8 ohm taps on the Mac.

Is there a sonic benefit and is it safe to try?

Yes - set it to the 4 ohm tap and forget about it!

The 4ohm tap will give your 803S more current. I noticed the tweeters were more detailed and the bass to hit slightly harder when i set my MC205 on the 4Ohm taps.

Yes, 803S dips down to 3.0 ohm. So the 4 ohm taps would be a better fit. However, you have to turn the volume 3db up from your usual listening volume.

        B&W 803S 4ohm vs. 8ohm
        by Dmm53
This has been discussed many times, but I'm interested in what people are getting out of running B&W speakers on 4 ohm taps? I own a Mac 352 and a Mac C41

I've had my 803S for a bout 1.5 years and have spent equal time listening both ways. I have found good and bad both ways.

        load/ohm question from guitar guy
        by Lex
Jon/others, a guitar guy asked me a question, I guess because I seemed pretty knowledgable about loads and impedence. But I still want to make sure I am thinking right on this...

        Here was his question:

I figure since the amp is rated at a 4 or 8 ohm load,...

        B&W 603 S and Nad 352
        by dinyaar
Hi guys i tried the NAD C 352 with my B&W 603 and was not happy with the sound. Wonder how it gets such super reviews? The rotels seem to sound clearer and better. Do u guys think the nad at 80 watts is too small to drive the 603?

        803S - personal review
        by Zoran
This is my first full review of any product after approx. 15 or so years audiophilia behind, so it’s natural I want to share my impressions with audio fellows exactly over here on Htguide forum – IMO the most qualified place today to talk about B&W as consumer.
