Hello all, new here and looking forward to good things. In a few days I will take in a pair of 683's, a pair of 685's, asw10 and an htm61. I will run them with a Rotel rsp985 pro/pre and a RMB-1095. I am greatly looking forward to the expected sound improvement but am wondering about the output of the amp as it pertains to the smaller 685's. Am I going to need to be really careful with the 200 watt amp into 100 watt recomended loudspeaker? Or is it more down to a matter of common sense? Thanks in advance.
How am I sitting?

Common sense is all you need.
Most problems are caused by underpowered amps sending out nasties.Mac 8gb SSD Audirvana ->Weiss INT202 firewire interface ->Naim DAC & XPS2 DR->Conrad Johnson CT5 & LP70S-> Vivid B1s. Nordost Valhalla cables & resonance management. (Still waiting for Paul Hynes PS:M)

by technodanvanSensitivity
Sensitivity measures how effectively a loudspeaker converts electrical power (input signal) into acoustic power (sound output). Sensitivity is typically expressed in decibels (dB) and is measured at a specific distance from the loudspeaker driver with a standardized input power level of one watt (1W) or other defined power levels. The sensitivity rating indicates the sound pressure level (SPL) produced by the loudspeaker at that distance and power level. For example, a speaker...-

by AwArEnEsSI have a problem which I haven't been able to solve yet.About two weeks ago,I put one of the B&W 685's on a shelf, very close to the dvd recorders and satellite receivers.685 was not connected to the receiver(amplificator). After a while in the same day,the satellite receiver started getting locked.Then...-

by AwArEnEsSHow much space should there be between two B&W 685s?
I think current space is about 3.0-3.5 m.
Also a question about vocals and B&W 685.I sometimes hear like vocals sound tiny(music is more dominant than vocals) and/or vocals are singing from a bit far away,is it cause...-

by technodanvanEfficiency
Efficiency refers to the ability of a speaker system to convert electrical power into acoustic output effectively. It measures how efficiently a loudspeaker converts electrical energy into sound energy. Efficiency is typically expressed as a percentage and represents the ratio of acoustic power output to the electrical power input. A more efficient loudspeaker requires less electrical power to produce a given level of sound output. Efficiency is influenced by several factors,...-

by technodanvanSPL (Sound Pressure Level)
SPL stands for sound pressure level, and it is a measure of the sound intensity or loudness at a specific location relative to a reference level. It is commonly used to quantify and describe the loudness of sound in various audio applications, including loudspeaker design, room acoustics, and sound engineering. Sound pressure level is expressed in decibels (dB) and is calculated using the following formula:...
SPL (in dB) = 20 * log10(P / Pref)-
