Kal - Question about Stereophile Reviewer's speakers

    Kal,

I don't know if this is the appropriate place for this, but I have been reading a lot of older Stereophile reviews and find it interesting as to which speakers the reviewers actually purchase.

I know that you have the B&W 802D's and previosuly had Revel Ultima Studio.

I see that Michael Framer had purchased the Sonus Faber Amanti homage review pair back in 1999.

I also read that Brian Damkroger has the Wilson Sophia II's.

To the extent that this is a B&W thread, it is interesting to know what others have and that you have the 802D's and raved about the N800's.

Your research efforts are all that is needed. I do not know, off hand, what other reviewers have but would have to go back and re-read all their reviews. BTW, I think Fremer has Wilsons, too, but I am not certain.

One of us does (but I see us as individuals, not as a group). I think you are thinking of Sam Tellig.

How do you expect to pass the exams if you don't keep up with your readings? :E

Just picked it up today in the Houston Hobby airport of all places. Kal gave the 800 a great review. If you're (like me) a geek about stuff like this - go get your copy. I know I had been waiting for it for a while.

Needless to say he liked the 800 more than his resident 802Ds and he...

I thought it might be interesting to start a thread on Kal's review of the CA-3200.

I finally got to read the article. I'm glad to see that he seemed to rate it higher than the bel canto, and only slightly lower than the pass labs, which costs >$4k more. I can't help but wonder how...

                  by JKalman
I'm slowly building up my surround setup and I'm trying to decide whether to go with 802Ds on the rear channels (I currently have 2 already) for the purpose of matching the sound for surround, or moving the 802Ds I have to the real channels and purchasing 800Ds for the front L/R channels. I plan on...

Hi all. I currently have a B&W CM setup, but the local dealer is offering me a pretty great opportunity to upgrade. He is willing to let me trade-in any or all of my gear at the same cost that I paid for it and put the money toward a new system. However, I only have until May (when I have to move...
