    Spade lug question

Can someone tell me how to connect speader wire to my 'new' 804S using spade lugs? I can't make heads or tails of the rear connectors other than to shove a banana plug in the end. Are the insulators supposed to be removeable?

    Thanks for your time.

One more thing if you have another moment. What are 'transit locks' and what purpose do they serve? Are they the black disks with a screw in them?

Thanks again. I really appreciate your help.

    HI,
If your speakers are the same as my 805S's the caps just unscrew which provide space for the spades between the bottom of the cap and the top of the base. Stick the spades in and tighten the cap.

If you are not biwiring, you will still need the short jumpers supplied by B&W to jump between the two sets of speaker terminals. These have bananna plugs on one end and spades on the other. Use the bananna plug on the terminal to which you have connected your speaker wire and the spade on the empty terminal.

I use spades on my speakers so I know this works. DO NOT try to remove the caps.

Thanks. I am currently bi-wiring using the banana inputs. I'm new to all of this but it seems to me that after spending beaucoup $'s on massive speaker cable, inserting a banana plug into the chain is unproductive. I will likely go to spades myself in the near future. Again my thanks. I will try merely turning them as you suggest. It would appear I was making it way more complicated than it is.

Speaker Cable Lug Size for Rotel RSX 1056??
        by corysmith01
So, I finally (after 3 years) was able to procure my first piece of Rotel. I bought a used RSX-1056. I run HDMI straight to my tv so having it on the receiver is of no use to me. So, I figured while I could catch a deal on a 1056, why not? I've had it for a week and am loving it. It replaced a Denon...

Does anyone know if I can connect a spade type speaker wire to the 1095 amp? If so, what is the diameter size?

        Thanks,

        DM601 s3's and Banana plugs...compatible?
        by corysmith01
I just ordered some terminated speaker wire today. I upped the gauge to go thicker than I'm currently running and thought "what the hey, banana connectors would be a nice touch." My instruction manual for the 601's says this:

"The terminals accept 6mm (1/4-in) spades, bared

banana plugs or spades to connect to amp
        by tboooe
Hi, I read somewhere that spades are the preferred method of connecting speaker cables to the amp because banana plugs causes too much of a voltage drop (or something like that). Can someone please explain why one or the other is preferred?
