Pairing new 803s with CDM CSE and CDM1SE and Rotel

Ok I am dating myself here but here is my list of B&W speakers (circa 99)
    2 @ CDM7SE, 2 @ CDM1SE, 1 @ CDM CSE. Love em all music and HT.
Only ever bi-wired CDM7SE and CDMCSE.
Thinking of upgrading to the 803s if my wife does not leave me for doing so.
So planned set up (Music much more important than HT):
    Fronts (803s) vertical bi-amp using spare Rotel RB-985 (4 of 5x100).
    Center and surrounds normal Rotel RSX-1056 channels (3 of 5 x 75).
And yes I love the sound of this amp with the current CDM7SE's and No I cant afford a Classe
    Thoughts on
    1. enough power to drive the 803s and bi-amping
    2. matching when using all for ht 803s's+CDMCSE+CDM1SE's

    Welcome,

I do not think your amp will bring out the best in the 803's, they love power. Even bi-amped. If you are in a smaller room, you may get away with it, but it is up to you to decide if you like the sound. You may want to look into getting a used higher power amp like a Krell, Classe, Mac etc....Or maybe a Rotel 1090 for the 803's.

Your center channel will not match well, as it does not use the FST mid drivers in the 803. If you like multichannel music, your surrounds will not match well either, but for ht use, your surrounds should be ok.

      CDM 1SE - To Bi-wire or Not?
      by emdeevee
I have a set of CDM SE speakers which I'm going to power with a B&K AVR507. The CDM 7SEs and the CDM CSE will be bi-wired with Audioquest Type 6 wire, but due to real world issues, I cannot run 35 feet (under carpet) of Type 6 wire to my rear CDM 1SEs -- at least not if I want to stay married....

      803S - personal review
      by Zoran
This is my first full review of any product after approx. 15 or so years audiophilia behind, so it’s natural I want to share my impressions with audio fellows exactly over here on Htguide forum – IMO the most qualified place today to talk about B&W as consumer.

      There are...

      Sub with B&W 803s?
      by b&Wman
I'm planning on getting the new B&W 803S when they come out. Currently, I'm using CDM 1NT's as mains coupled with a sub. I'm sure the 803S will sound much better than the CDM 1NTs when I get them. I'm using a much cheaper sub (Polk PSW 650) which is fine for movies but not great for music. Due...

      B&W CDM 7SE vs 603s3
      by afcase
      Hi,
I am a new member to this forum. I am looking to upgrade my fronts from 601s2 to either 603s3 or CDM7SE both in the $900-1000 range. I am upgrading because our new baby is starting to get mobile and I need to get floor stander and sell the 601's. Obviosly the 7SE's would be used if I...

      Thinking of upgrading - 802D? 803D? Keep my CDM7se?
      by karelm
Hi, I'm a new member and have a few questions. I currently own a pair of B&W CDM7se and want to upgrade to the new nautilaus line.

At my local B&W dealer, I auditioned the 802D which looks fantastic but I found the sound stiff considering its intimidating price and design. It...
