    B&W CDM 7SE vs 603s3

    Hi,
    I am a new member to this forum. I am looking to upgrade my fronts from 601s2 to either 603s3 or CDM7SE both in the $900-1000 range. I am upgrading because our new baby is starting to get mobile and I need to get floor stander and sell the 601's. Obviosly the 7SE's would be used if I can find them.

    Any comments regarding the comparision of the two. Which would be a better purchase I have not had a chance to audition either as the local B&w dealer does not stock 600 series.
    System:
    STR DA 1000ES sony Amp
    601s2 fronts (sold)
    Velodyne CHT 8 Sub
    LCR 600 center
    Room 18x 20

    Listening is typically 60% music and 40% HT movies

    I know there are a ton of really nice B&W's available over $1000 but my limit is right at that price.

    Appreciate any comments and or suggestions.

      I'd choose the DM603 S3.
      Yes the CDM7 SE is a nice speaker, but I believe the newer 603 S3 edges it. Furthermore, your center will probably match better with the 603s and finding the matching center for the CDM7 SE will be hard (perhaps a CDM CNT, I don't think the HTM7 is a good option...)

      Should you be able to find a CDM 7NT however...

          I will have a CDM CNT in black that I looking to sell, once I purchase my HTM7 to match my 705/703.

              I would of course also be interested in CDM 7nt used if anyone knows of a source. However they would be out of the question new.
