Price increase worked out in the of those selling their stuff.

Up here north of the border we had a price decrease, I paid $4,400 for my 703's pre-tax, they now sell for $3000 or $3,300 I forget which.

I went in to a dealer the other day to consider the possibility of upgrading to a pair of Quad ESL's...the dealer would only give me $1,800 for my 4 month old 703's.

On the used market I'd be lucky to get $2,500...I guess I'm stuck with them :-)

Yes but the matrix and nautilus line are different speakers completely where the N802 and 802D are not. For the 802D's they added a new tweeter and woofer design and jacked it up $4k. lol

well.. the process of making the tweeters is not cheap.

You also forgot the new cross-over, and the fact that the curved wood is made from a single sheet now, instead of 2 pieces glued together.

I would guess the rohacell, crossover and diamond pieces are of the greater cost, but they developed a new process for making the cabinets and curving the wood...

you shouldn't complain aboute the prices on B&W speakers.Just to give you an example we have to pay 12210,46 $ for a pair of 803D here in Denmark and you only have to pay 9000 $ and that is US$.

mmm...if thats the case I wonder why the prices in Canada are 25% higher when our dollar has been on par for months with no sign of a change

Same thing with Classe...Made in Canada and 25% more here then the US. Go figure.

if possible the old pricing and then the new.

as to have a reference to the old models for used offerings now and then...

Im having a real hard time locating these online.

In Brazil I paid $5000 for the 703. Until he seems that we are the people richest of the world.
