    B&W MSRP (USA)

Does anyone have the USA MSRP for the 800 series speaker line?

Also, Are there any Washington State dealers that people have had good success negotiating with?

    Thanks

I wonder if that's a reflection of the weak US dollar?

It could be that other items are going to start costing more, too...

Don't I feel glad! I just bought a new pair of 805s from an audiogon member just last week for $2000. They arrived factory sealed and when I called the local dealer for the stands, that's when I learnt about the price increase for the b&w series.

You've got to love working with your audio dealer and getting a deal, as I received a deal on mine as well.

I'm glad I wasn't "crazy" in thinking my 703's were sounding much better all the sudden.

That's all, my two comments sort of ran together there, sorry! Have a great night and keep enjoying those 703's! :T

I thought you were saying I over paid...

Maybe everywhere else in the US you can get dealers to lower the price, but in Cincinnati and surrounding area they like to tow that MSRP.

My dad got a killer deal, I don't recall exactly but it was less than $3500 on his 804S. All I got was a thanks for setting up the deal.. ops:

Sorry about the miscommunication! I've always heard that anywhere between 10-20% is pretty standard (usually on closer to the 10% side), but I'm only going by what I've heard.

Look in the super deals thread here somewhere on the forums. Pretty sure he posted about it but he got some 802's for 300 bucks.......makes me sick

23k just seems like a crazy amount of money for speakers...at least from B&W I mean I know they sound great...but 23,000 dollars great? Thats half 1/4 the price of a 4 year college education...get a lot more out of that! Or easily the price of a super sport bike. Or a great downpayment on a house. Or...hell around here you can buy a forclosed home for that!

Yes, price increases reflect the state of the US Dollar.

Canadian prices have DROPPED instead. But we are still paying more.

For example, 803D is 9k in US now. It is 10k in Canada, with Canadian dollar being stronger right now, which is a double whammy. It used to be $11k in Canada!

I bought my 803D just before the price change, and I paid OLD US price. This is why I bought my 803Ds at the time I did (last month). I'm glad I did!

Here are the prices from my local dealer, looks like they've gone up 5% - 10% :E . CM-1 were $900 when I got mine a while back, I think the CM-7's were $1800, I'd have to check on that. They do give 10% (I think it is 10%) regular customer discount.

Unless of course you buy it over the internet (if you can) or ship it out of state, then sales taxes may not apply, but you are left with the shipping costs.

I guess they would rather sell smaller quanties at a higher price. The N802's were 8k a pair back in 2003-2004 new and when the new diamond series came out they boosted up $4k because of a new tweeter and woofer design. Now they boosted up another $2k. LOL no thanks! Thats why I love audiogon. Used 802D's can be had for $8000 on there.

I've tried to work backwards on the pricing to figure it out.

                                                                                        $14k for 802d:
I am guessing dealer cost around $6k-$7k
                                                                                        Import and shipping: $500-$1k
That means b&w gets rougly $5k-$6k for an 802d.
I estimate their costs somewhere around half that: $3k.

So, for every pair of 802d they sell at 14k$, I am guessing their profit is only around $3k...and the dealers make around $6k, excluding overhead costs of the sale.
I'm just sittin here watchin the wheels go round and round...

Yes but the matrix and nautilus line are different speakers completely where the N802 and 802D are not. For the 802D's they added a new tweeter and woofer design and jacked it up $4k. lol

I've tried to work backwards on the pricing to figure it out.

                                                                                          $14k for 802d:
I am guessing dealer cost around $6k-$7k
                                                                                          Import and shipping: $500-$1k
That means b&w gets rougly $5k-$6k for an 802d.
I estimate their costs somewhere around half that: $3k.

So, for every pair of 802d they sell at 14k$, I am guessing their profit is only around $3k...and the dealers make around $6k, excluding overhead costs of the sale.
