    Speaker stands and spikes

I have a new pair of 803S on medium pile carpet. I have slightly tilted the speakers back by lengthening the spikes in the front. Wondering how many out there are using Sound Anchors, cones or Outriggers and what the results have been?

I use Sound Anchors on all of my speakers. Excellent results in creating a solid foundation. :T You may want to do a search as this subject has been covered several times.

What does titling the speaker back by lengthening the front spikes do?

There seems to be a very slight benefit as far as soundstage. I've read many posts that claim huge differences. To me it was barely noticeable.

Here is a good discussion on Spikes that was talked about back in October,

I can vouch for the SA stands myself, and highly recommend them.

              Hey Gang-
Im waiting on a pair of Sound Anchors that should be here in a few days. I have hardwood floors & the stands have spikes. What are some good options for the spikes? I saw the conecoasters at soundanchors.com & was wondering what other items are readily available. Has anyone...

I've decided to get the 802ds.
              Couple of things:
I talked to Soundanchors on the phone about whether or not my 802n anchors will work on the 802ds. They finally concluded that it would work although I would have to take the rollers off, and also put "camper's tape" on the anchors....

              Speaker Spikes and Wood Floors

Currently building Zaph's SR71 and matching stands. First primer coat on drying on sands as I type. Having difficulty deciding how to spike the stands.

With my sub, PE's 10" Titanic, I quickly learned pointy spikes + wood floors = disaster and the separate floor plates are a joke...

Sound Anchor stands for Nautilus 802
              by DanR
Anyone who has read my thread from a few weeks ago will remember me asking if anyone had Sound Anchor stands for the N802's and what their impressions were. Unfortunately, no one who read my thread had this set up as no one responded. So I went a head and purchased them blindly. Not my usual style as...

For those that have these, can you tell me the difference between the speakers on spikes on carpet/pad and the speaker on the sound anchor stands that sit on carpet/pad? Does the stands have spikes that go through the carpet?

I notice alot of people seem to have these. Is this a worthwhile...
