    ASW855 : Internal Pictures???

    Hi,

    I am interested adding the ASW855 to my system. Just wondering if anyone has any internal pictures of the subwoofer, I came accross a review of the Velodyne DD18 on audioholics which had internal pictures, and to be honest it didn't look like very good workmanship.

    How thick are the walls on the ASW855? Inch? Does it use the Matrix bracing?

    Anyone know the volume?

      forget about the pictures and go listen to them.

      The DD18 is just an amazing sounding sub, for me much better than the ASW855.

      I even prefer the DD15 that is a bit quicker.

      Such subs require a huge room size, forget to reach 20Hz in conventional room size

          Unless you could do better yourself, who cares what the inside looks like? As long as it sounds good right!

          Velodyne make incredible subs - as do B&W.
          B&W 683. Advantage S-101. Mac Mini. 53,000 tunes.

              Hi,

              I'm in the market for a subwoofer and looking at,

              1. ASW850 $2,500 (S/hand)
              2. Velodyne DD18 $4,500 (S/hand)
              3. ASW855 $5,200 (New)

              The ASW850 is the cheapest option, is there much difference between that and the ASW855? Any owners of both...

              I have the REL Stentor III its only a few months old. Its great for music, But, I dont think that it has the Slam and Impact that I was looking for from a Sub. Has anyone A/B tested the stentor VS. the DD18 ???? Can anyone share any thoughts about trading in the stentor for the DD 18?? Pros...

              Hi,

              Dealers (inlcuding mine) have started to recieve shipments of the ASW855 sub and B&Ws web-site has been updated to delete the previously announced ASW865 and ASW875 subs... Interesting - as spec-wise the ASW855 seems awefully like the proposed ASW865...

              Hi,

              My ASW855 subwoofer has been damaged while moving.

              The amplifier section is not powering up, does the ASW855 have a crossover aswell as a amplifier or is it all in one?
