    Need help with B&W 802N

A friend just dropped by and thought that the gadget behind the midrange driver should be removed. I have attached a picture of the back of my midrange unit. Can anybody tell me if it looks right or should something be removed. TIA.

The picture looks dark but if you click on it and view the enlarged version, it looks clear enough.

Don't touch it as this screw holds the FST driver in place and is set at the proper torque from the factory.

Some people have recommended tightening this screw occassionally but if you go to B&W's web site under FAQ they do not recommend this screw is touched.

Greg is right, leave that tension screw alone! All of the Marlan headed speakers come from the factory with a locking bolt that does need to be removed when the speakers are installed. Your speaker already has that bolt removed. If you think your FST is loose or sounds distorted then you need to let the dealer handle the issue.

I hear that ML 432+B&W 802N is a Great Combination!!! Not Sure.

My 6BSST+802N combination is Ok. But, The Brightness & Hollowness is really unbearable at times. I had to reduce the Treble on my Lexicon for that.

              802N vs 803S
              by boroty
I can purchase an 802N for the same price as the 803s. I have listened to the 803s, but not the 802N. I know the 802 is older model, but seem that there would be a substantial difference in soundstage........ Opinions?

              B&W 802N - Soundcare stands
              by amdan
I have seen some positive feedback on these stands for the 802N. How much of a difference do they really make? Are they worth the $700 or would I be better advised to spend the money on power conditioning?
