I must admit that I had "goosepimples" as well! I found the whole viewing incredibly uplifting, and the moving expressions on the face of the quite attractive female judge didn't hurt either. It's nice to see an "average Joe" able to come out of his self conscious shell and perform a feat of incredible being!

        I was stirred and shaken!

Do you know the name of the opera he was singing?

The aria he was singing was Nessun Dorma from Puccini's opera Turandot. That particular tune was Pavarotti's signature encore with which he ended his concerts.

As for the video clip itself - what an uplifting watch! Thanks for the link. With a little training, this guy could do reasonably well on the opera circuit.

Yeah this guy was on Britains Got Talent - he got a £1,000,000 record contract out of it AND won the competition.
                  B&W 683. Advantage S-101. Mac Mini. 53,000 tunes.

This the reason we love BW, nothing stirs nor relays emotion like music. Even though most of us cannot decipher the words, it is immaterial, the feeling permeates directly into the soul! Fabulous! That someone who most would dismiss as ordinary can move so many in such a way is uplifting and extraordinary. Thanks for the clip!

Paul Potts "One Chance" CD becomes available in the U.S. on September 18. I am not a Classical listener by any strech but this disc is definitely a must buy.

Thanks for the introduction, beden1. This guy is "Marvelous"!

P.S. Check him out on YouTube. There are many more soundbites to enjoy. Just beware that you may get hooked as I did.

It's like a Cinderella Story. His album is already number one in about 6+ countries, and a whole new group of listeners are turning on to Opera!

Just an amazing story, and it's nice to see that it's still possible to turn from a frog to a prince in today's world.

Cool video clips. I enjoyed watching his performance for the finals of the Got Talent show. If he could just work on his breath control he'd do really well in the opera world.

I'm not sure, but I don't think he has had any formal training?
