    Amp for Rotel RC 1090

Hi, just purchased a rotel rc 1090 preamp for my B&W CDM 9NT's. Wondering what amp i should purchase to go with the rc 1090. Should i stick with rotel? What do you recommend? Thanks.

my 1090 is paired up with a RB-1080, powering my 604 S3's, does a pretty good job I'm sure you could experiment with other solutions depending on the sound you want - I've got an older 1080 it doesn't have bi-wire posts and it's been blowing a lot of fuses, be sure to look around for a newer one usually a little less problematic :P

I've got a RB-1080 (with a RC-1070) running my 703's and have been very happy. While there are arguably better amps out there, it is hard to find them for the cost of a 1080, that's my opinion anyway. I have the newer one with the bi-wire posts and haven't had one problem. :T

      Good luck!

Even if you are not the original owner, Rotel is pretty good about applying the updates and fixes to stop the 1080 from blowing fuses. Ever since they came up with the final solution we've seen a dramatic decrease in the number of new reports and 99% of those with issues haven't had it re-occur.

I use a RB-1092 with my RC-1090 pre - a very good combination. For your CDMs the RB-1080 would be an excellent choice.

RB-1090, if still available. This big boy betters the RB-1080 - more relaxed, effortless, laid-back soundwise, better deep bass, cleaner highs (1080 highs rolled-off)...

If you plan to expand later an RMB1075 would be a good choice so you can drive a 5.1 system. The CDM9's are efficient so you don't need an overtly powerful amp.

Okay, so I managed to stumble upon a Rb 1090 for an absolute steal on craigslist. I bought it and love how it sounds but basically I don't know if it is the right setup for me. I could sell the amp and help pay for some new gear but I don't know what would be best. At the moment my system is a 1075...

Opinions on this would be nice and greatly appreciated. I'm driving B&W 683's. Wondering which would be better. One 1090 or two 1080's bi amping. This may have already been a thread in the past, and if so I apologize.

Just wondering which would have a greater benefit. One RB-1090 or two 1080's for bi amping?

Why RB-1090 does not have 12V TRIGGER input ?
                  by tech_table
Does anyone know, why RB-1090 does not has 12V TRIGGER input ? I'm planning to get one near future, been reading alot about the RB-1090, but when I looked at the back panel drawing of the RB-1090 on Rotel site, it's does not show 12V TRIGGER input on its back panel, Is there a reason for it, not to...

This is what I will have this weekend and will let you know the result. I guess Ideally I should have something between a 1080 and a 1090 ... but will let you know how the 1080 stacks up with the newbie B&W.
