Not really, it will be a special order only. Since B&W USA will not be stocking them it could take as long as 4 months (or more) to get something in oak. It not something that will be done very often I'm sure. The oak finish on the 600 Series 3 did not sell well so that is why B&W will be doing cherry and wenge (in addition to black of course).

This is very funny. According the the new 600 series brochure describing the four cabinet finishes available, they include "....the Light Oak that proved popular for the 600 Series 3;......."

However, the accompanying press release says that the Phase I roll-out "initially will be black ash and cherry with wenge to follow later in the year." No mention of oak.

          Peter,

No there will not be a premium for oak, just a long lead time.

          Kal,

I would guess the lit is the same here and the UK. In the UK the oak was/is popular but it wasn't here. The US is on a dark finish trend with speakers. In the 700 Series B&W sells very little maple compared to the darker woods like rosenut.

Since the oak will not be a finish that will be stocked by B&W USA they don't talk about it in the press release. My rep Marc said they can get oak, but it will be for special order only.
