Not really, it will be a special order only. Since B&W USA will not be stocking them it could take as long as 4 months (or more) to get something in oak. It not something that will be done very often I'm sure. The oak finish on the 600 Series 3 did not sell well so that is why B&W will be doing cherry and wenge (in addition to black of course).

This is very funny. According the the new 600 series brochure describing the four cabinet finishes available, they include "....the Light Oak that proved popular for the 600 Series 3;......."

However, the accompanying press release says that the Phase I roll-out "initially will be black ash and cherry with wenge to follow later in the year." No mention of oak.

          Peter,

No there will not be a premium for oak, just a long lead time.

          Kal,

I would guess the lit is the same here and the UK. In the UK the oak was/is popular but it wasn't here. The US is on a dark finish trend with speakers. In the 700 Series B&W sells very little maple compared to the darker woods like rosenut.

Since the oak will not be a finish that will be stocked by B&W USA they don't talk about it in the press release. My rep Marc said they can get oak, but it will be for special order only.

Chuck (Impala454) made a suggestion to build a thread based on peoples' finishes. So, one could look at pics and make some educated judgment on possible finishes. Lets post some pics, and try to keep the discussion down as none of us want to hunt through 6 pages of chit chat for that one awesome pic...

Repairing Tiny Chip in Wenge Veneer

In an unfortunate incident last night, I stepped on a level I was using to level off my audio rack, slipped on it, and shot it straight into my CM7s in Wenge.

First, I'd like to say that the guys are really sturdy - even though the level went straight into the speaker, the only visible...

I am looking for advice. I am planning on purchasing 600 series speakers for my new home. I am on a limited budget. My room size is 15X19. I am planning on using the speakers for both 2 channel and surround sound. I have decided the DM604 S3 will be my basic left and right speakers. I would like...

            Well,

I just thought I'd post up here that I'm thinking about the 802s... I got offered the 802Ds for a decent price (about 8K, these are demos with about 200 to 300 hours on them max) and after hearing them. They are very nice! I like how the soundstage is absolutely HUGE. In fact...

When do the exotic finishes come out?
            by Nolan B
I have seen some pictures of B&W speakers with some high gloss exotic finishes mainly on the 8 series, but I have also seen them on the 6 series.

Anyone know if there is a release scedule?

I think there they should have a "B&W Personal" option similar...
