    803 to 804 ?

I have a 5 year old pair of N804 (not S model). I have seen a pair of N804 (also not S model) going second hand and I fancy maybe upgrading.

Has anyone compared the 803 to 804 ? What are the differences ?

    many thanks.

    I am assuming u mean N803 used

    :T

I have the N804 and having heard some of the other speakers, I really heard a good upgrade both in highs and lows when I heard the 803Ds. The extra woofer and the diamond tweeter does make the difference. N803/804S/803S all sounds marginally different for me to spend any extra money on it.

Going to N802/802D is a whole new ballgame requiring investments in amp etc.

I upgraded from the N804s to the 803Ss in March of '06 - I did this as part of un upgrade plan to get the 802Ds.

The N804 -> 803S upgrade was nice; I appreciated the extra bass that the 803Ss brought to the table.

The 803S is a much fuller sounding speaker N804, but worth the upgrade? Well, you'll have to listen to them to determine that.

        Cheers,
        Keith

            Hey-
I am getting ready to upgrade to a pair of N803's. My only concern is shipping. I doubt I will be able to find a pair where I could pick them up so I will need to have them shipped. How does the B&W packaging protect the tweeter on top? I have read articles in the past where people say...

With the exception of the diamond tweeter in the 803, how many years have they been making the 803S & the 804S as we know them today? I guess what I'm trying to ask, is if I see a second hand pair, how many years old can they be and still be the same speaker in the showroom today?

So I bought Used Nautilus 803 a while back. I intended to have the budget to buy at least a RB-1080, but I dont think that is what i will be able to do. I also do not like Black Ash.

I have them for sale right now to see if anyone has interest, so I am considering some options, and I...
