    B&W 804S with a Krell 400xi

    I see many different opinions on this setup. Some say it is bright some say it is great. For those of you that have critically listened to 804S and 400xi setup does it tend to lean towards the bright side and if so does it become real fatiguing or is it just a very sweet sounding set up?

      I thought it was a little too bright for my tastes. I didn't listen for a real long time, about 20 min or so, and I couldn't live with it. My customer is upgrading his KAV-400xi (he had 804S's and now has 803D's) and is taking a long look at Classe. His system has just enough of an edge on the top end that he is looking for something better. Cables and personal taste may be different for you however, so you should listen for yourself.

          Has anyone heard this set up? Will the Apollo calm down the upper frequencies of the B&W and Krell set up? I am a big fan of Krell and love the idea that two small pieces of electronic gear can be a true high end setup. Any thoughts are much appreciated.
