    Crossover point for 804S

Ok listed in my sig. is my equipment. Given that, what is a good crossover point for the 804S for both music and HT?

The specs for the 804S say they wil go to 35hz before starting to drop off.

I am thinking about 50hz, should be good. It allows the 804S to do some of what it is capable of without taking them to their limits.

    Thanks a newbie (still)

Hey, it has been about a year since I upgraded from the N804s, but when I had them, I set the cross over at 60Hz.

The bass with those speakers isn't a deep as you will probably like, so you are on track with the 50Hz setting.

Try both and see what sounds better to you -

    Cheers,
    Keith

I am running my 804s as Rears and I have no sub in the back of the room, so I cross my 804s at 40hz. They sounds fine to me like that.

I cuurentlly set my 804S to run Full Range because my sub is terrible.

When i get a new stellar sub (Fathom or DD) i plan to cross my speakers at 50Hz, possibly even 60Hz to get the most out of the 804S and sub!

Depending on what amp your using for your 804S i can see using anywhere from 40Hz - 70Hz.

Are you planning on integrating your DD10 for 2CH music as well?

Yes I am planning on using my sub with 2 channel music (most of the time).

I figure i bought a full range tower speaker and should take advantage of it. However I don't want to take them to their limit either since I have a high quality sub like the DD10.

My goal is to set up the 804S to get as much of a full range and full sound as possible before implementing the sub into the mix, that way I am getting close to everything (but not taking it to its limit) that the 804S can deliver on their own.

BTW, how well does the 804S do on its own full range? Does it pump it out and put out decent bass in the upper volume levels?

forgive my lack of knowledge here but how do you change the crossover points for your 804S's? Is it via the amp or something on the speaker???

            I have the same speaker.

804S/HTM4 and ASW 750 setup help
                by greggz
I need to help a friend setup his new ASW 750 with his 804S/HTM4 combo this weekend.

His application is strictly 100% Home Theater.

I'm curious if anyone else has this configuration and what your sub settings are?

                Htm3s + ((804s + Asw825) Or 803s)?
                by csuzor
I am trying to decide which is the better option
                1. HTM3S + 804S + ASW825
                2. HTM3S + 803S

The price is similar (a little more for option 1), and I know option 2 could be upgraded in the future with the ASW825, but I have to limit myself a little.

                I feel the...

                Optimal crossover point selection (?s)
                by Jed
Hello, I searched through the forums looking at how different designs were created by considering a proper X-over frequency and selected based on the limitations of each driver. If it is known that the RS28A can play down to 1100HZ with a cauer filter (8th order), so when does it make sense to cross...

                Sealed statements crossover point
                by 06'goat
I am wondering if I go with the sealed statements can I run them full range? I hear they roll off at about 50hz... Does that mean that they sort of have their own natural crossover and that the bass in the lower octaves won't hurt the woofers like they might with the ported statements? Any help would...
