    Newb needing help w/speaker selection

    Hi all,
I'm new to both the forum and to quality audio. My previous ht was a htib system that cost $300 for receiver and speakers. Needless to say it was a real pos. While I'm still on a budget, I do have a little more $$ to spend and after doing a bit of research, I've purchased a yamaha rxv659 reciever, 2 used b&w nautilus scm-1 speakers for my fronts, an infinity center channel(can't remember which model# the infinty is) and a rocket ulw10 sub. While I AM on a budget, I do want a quality sound system(mostly for ht use with limited music...maybe 75% ht, 25% music) Now that I have the b&w fronts, I want to get some used b&w for my surrounds. Can't buy new(toomuch $$) but am shopping around for some used. I can't seem to find any scm-1, so my question is if anyone knows if other models like the lm1, dm 302, 600 s3, would be a good match for the fronts. Any other suggestions?
    Any help would be apprciated.

From what I've learned and been told. You might want to think about replacing the center channel and using anything left over for the surrounds. If you use this setup to watch movies, most of your information comes out of the center. You'd want to match that up as close as possible. It sounds like you don't need high end surrounds right now, just something to reproduce the sound.

I am in kind of the opposite situation. I bought brand new DM603s3's to replace my Paradigm Titan bookshelfs. Those Titan's are now my surrounds, but I lack a center channel. I don't watch many movies so it's not important to me that I get one. Though now I am trying to decide between a new Receiver or a center...

I'd say try to decide if a better center is more important then the surrounds.

Try www.audiogon.com if you don't already know about it. I have been a fan of hi-fi for years and consider myself an internet god, and I just found out about that site a few weeks ago.

        Center for N805
        by larry_in_keller
I posted this in another forum but would appreciate your comments....

My current setup includes N805 for the fronts, HTM2 center and SCM1 for surrounds. I would like to replace the HTM2 to match the color of the fronts which got me to asking myself whether I should go with the...

Connecting 2 center speakers on RSP / RSX
        by csuzor
Can the RSX or RSP effectively handle 2 center channel speakers?

I have come to a preliminary conclusion that I need 2 center channel speakers, the 1st an HTM7 below the TV, and the 2nd a 704 / 703 standing next to the TV, for optimum sound quality. There will obviously be some compromise...

        HT without center channel
        by zakhaku
        Hello
I am building up my home theater piece by piece and I was looking for some words of wisdom. I have a pair of N 802 for the fronts and was considering getting an HTM2 for the center channel. Rather than use an average center channel like the HTM2, how about no center channel at all? Has...

use of center channels as left, center, and right fronts
        by joe_s
I am considering the use of three "center" channels for use as left, center, and right to allow all three to be positioned below a projection screen. Any one doing this ?

Any favorite center channels to deliver as high volume / quality as possible ?

Denon vs. classe & rotel. My opinion
        by crytklmass
I currently have B&W802d's for fronts, HTM2d for center and SCM1's for rears. I recently owned the Rotel 1090, for fronts, Rotel 1095 for center and rears. After selling my Rotel, my local rep tried talking me into classe ssp800 and classe 400mono and classe 5200 for my remaining speaker. I found...
