    Mounting Speakers to Stands

Hi. I have DM602's on Sanus stands. The spiked feet on the stand provide decent stability but, due to dogs and kids, I'd really like to bolt the speakers to the stands. There are holes on the top plate but was wondering if it's a good idea or not and, if so, how far into the bottom of the speaker is acceptable to provide a solid mount and yet not damage the speaker? Thx.

I thought of securing my speakers to my stand also , but dont want to damage the wood by screwing anything into it ( there goes resale ). What i thought of which might sound weird , was looking for some velcro tape , that way there would be no damge to speaker . Just stick as big a piece on top of speaker stand and bottom of speaker , not as secure as screws but no damage and a lil more secure than nothing. Also wouldn't be visible , once in place they stay there , if you resell the speakers just clean up a lil tape residue .

Was kind of thinking that may be an options as well. How did it work out for you?

Haven't done it myself yet , not happy with the stands i have right now , plus im moving across country in 2 months . But thought it was a decent alternative to screwing anything into the speakers and damaging them .

I know the b&w stands have mount points that line up with the bottom of the speakers and you can secure the speakers to the stands. At least the stands for the 805's did.

Years ago (dm110i) I used "tic-tac" /wonder putty ?? (fokken wondergom) to secure my speakers to the stand. It worked.

I had the same problem with my DM602's, so I just went to the hardware store and bought a pad of those rubber circles for cupboard doors, and stuck them on the corners of the stand. Had them like that for a few years and never had a problem. I'd bump them when cleaning or something and the whole thing would shift and the speaker would hold still.
