I am currently using a DD-12 with my 803S speakers. I was looking to add a second DD-12 but was told about another option. I emailed Velodyne and spoke to them on the phone. Based on my room size, they recommended using a SC-1250 amp and two passive SC-15s. Price wise this would be equivalent to a DD-12. They also have some information on their website showing the single 15 would be the equivalent to the two 12s, but the SC-1250 allows you to equalize them as a pair. If I had the two DD-12s, I would have to equalize each sub individually. They also said that if you are looking for plug and play great bass, the SC or SPL lines would be a better choice. The DD series has a lot of options for manual adjustment that I have never used and have no intention of using.
Has anyone ever used the twin SC-15s with the B&W 803s? I am looking for more impact during HT use of my system.
