I have 800D fronts with N802 rear speakers and an HTM2D center. I just purchased Velodyne DD12 (wanted to go 18" but wife said no more large speakers! 8O ). For HT, I have a Denon 5085. How should I set up my speakers? Should I go Large on all speakers Or, should I set the speakers (some or all) to small and set the crossover? If so, where would you set the crossover point? Also, should I run LFE-THX where the sub plays the LFE channel and from channels where the speaker is set small. The other option is to run LFE+Main. This setting has low frequencies sent to the speakers set to large as well as to the subwoofer. How would you set up this system?
800D with Velodyne DD12 settings?

Steve; I think the HTM2D does an excellent job integrating with my 800D fronts. I would highly recommend it!- Bottom

Hi SRT,
I would have thought that your 800's deserve a slightly better sub.
The 8002 will go down to 35Hz comfortably.
So my recomendation would be to cut them at around 40/50Hz, and let the sub take over from there.
This is my setting for the 802's and ASW850 that I am running, and they intergate very well - no sign of any frequencies missing, however I am using the TAG McLeren TMREQ facility which does a very good job of correcting any room resonances in the 20 to 100 Hz region.- Bottom

Lex,
It seems we cannot comment on subs specifically in B&W forum - how else can I provide info about a sub specific issue if I cannot comment here or provide the link to where the info is at?
I was not aware we were not allowed to refer to other forums in this forum. If so I apologise.

I have spent many days with a similar setup that you have, except that I have DD18. At first I placed it in a corner, but the bass was always boomy and uneven regardless of the adjustments I tried. Then I placed the DD18 in the position of the center channel (on its side to gain 2 inches in the height), and placed the HTM2D on top. Not as bad looking as you might think, and the bass is now of reference quality. As far as adjustments are concerned - at first I followed THX recommendations and used 80Hz cutoffs. The sound was thin. Conclusions, do not mess with the B&W, give it full bandwidth if you can. Unfortunately my Meridian 861 places a 30Hz minimum crossover when you use LFE. That's low enough not to affect the 800D sound. In fact the 800D can use some help up to about 50Hz, which is where I set the crossover point for the DD18 to get the flattest bass response measurment. The resulting bass quality is excellent.- Bottom

by arcam_boyHi,
I don't mean to upset anyone or cause offence but how come there are so many people in America who can have a full blown Nautilus/800d/801d/802d set up. I am a member of a very very big av forum in the UK (1 million members) and one person on there has some 802D's with the rest having...-

Hi,
I'm down to two subwoofers.
SVS PB13-Ultra VS. Velodyne DD12
Pros and Cons I can think of:
1. SVS is $500 cheaper
2. Velodyne is smaller, SVS is double the size
3. SVS goes lower according to the tests.
4. Velodyne...-

by urlawyerMy old Velodyne F1200 started rattling and would drop out a lot. Found that the edge had holes that caused the rattle but not the drop outs. Went out and bought a Velodyne DD10, cause the dealer gave me a great deal. I wanted a DD12 or a DD15 but they were beyond my price justification. Turns out...-
