I have to vent my anger.

About 18 months ago I renovated my house. Totally rewired as well. I have plenty of electricity available. 3 phase x 80 amps.

I had one specific instruction for the electrician. Put my soundroom / HT on a dedicated circuit.

If there was one thing I did not want my system to run with it is ...................... yes you guesed, fridge, freezer (kitchen).

And guess what, my soundroom is on the same circuit as those things. And I am having a slight hiss/humm/buzz problem. Probably nothing to do with it, but :M

Sorry to hear. I've had my run ins with sub contractors myself with my own home rennovation projects. I'm still dealing with issues with my fireplace a whole year after they last touched it. Oh well.

With my electrician, they did a decent job overall. The only fault I would put on him was that the communication was subpar when he wasn't on the job site especially during a stretch where everything was waiting for him to finish up before inspections could be completed. But one thing I did was to verify their wiring after they've left for the day. I asked for 3 dedicated 20A circuits for my room and that's what I got. I traced the circuits all the way back to the subpanel they put in. I've learned that no matter how good the general contractor or subcontractor is you have to follow up on everything they do to make sure it meets to your satisfaction.

how the hell did you get 3 phase service to your house? i've never seen that before in residential

In the U.S. it's required to have all kitchen outlets on a dedicated line. You cannot share power with other rooms. Granted, there would be less of a concern if household power was 3 phase.

When I think about electrical mishaps I've had, I'm very happy we don't have three phase. I think many of us have been poked a few times by shorts in extension cords and the like.

In my new house I have also 3 phase system, with 400 amps for the 1st floor, 200 amps for the 2nd floor and 100 amps for the 3rd floor. :T

The 1st floor has higher amps, due to the Kitchen and My T.V. room ,where all the HT/Music goodies are. I guess the Middle East does not follow the U.S. specification!! 8O
Anyway ,I am sorry to hear about this Kobus ,and hope they can solve your problem soon. As long as your speakers do not produce Ice, and your ice maker in your Kitchen does not play Music ,then I guess you'll be fine. :E
