I have it. Depends what you want it for. I think it's a great musical sub, but if you're going for the HT experience, I you may want to audition some other ones. I compared it to the Def Tech Supercube I, and found the Def Tech provided that extra oomph when it went down low, but coudn't compare to the 675 musically.Anthem AVM30, Sherbourn 5/1500A, B&W CDM 7NT/CNT/SNT, B&W ASW CDM (HT); McIntosh 4300V, B&W 1NT, ASW 675 (Stereo)- Bottom

The only caveat(s) I have is that it is very sensitive to speaker placement, and does require some burn-in time. It took me some trial and error to find a sweet spot, but once I did, it sounded phenominal. I can't imagine a better musical sub for the money. HT, however, is another matter...Anthem AVM30, Sherbourn 5/1500A, B&W CDM 7NT/CNT/SNT, B&W ASW CDM (HT); McIntosh 4300V, B&W 1NT, ASW 675 (Stereo)- Bottom

5 Years tops I would say!!
Some say close to 100 hours, which is about 8 hours a day, for two weeks, and some say over 200 hours!!!! :E 8O
The point here is to enjoy it and have fun breaking them in yourself !!! Who cares how long it will take ,as you will still enjoy them immensly anyhow. :T
However, when they break in they would sound fuller and warmer!!! That is good!! :T ;x(
NOW Enjoy your NEW toy!!!!!
Cheers!!- Bottom

I find this thread quite interesting.... as I am in the market to upgrade my current ASW 300 to something that is more in line with my 601 S3/S2 system.
I now have a ASW 300 which as you know is a 8" and 100W subwoofer primarily the entry level sub and matched to the DM 302 etc speakers.
I would like to upgrade to an ASW 6xx or something similar.
Usage would be: 40% TV , 30% HomeTheater DVD, 30% CD/FM listening
In the B&W line there appear to be 3 good choices:
The 150W 10" ASW 600
The 200W 12" ASW 650
The 500W 10" ASW 675
The price range on these three units is fairly wide spread with the 675 being the high end. I find it interesting that the 675 only uses 75W of power where as the 650 eats up 280W and the 600 eats up 220W. There must be some sort of new power system in the ASW 675 to account for the "green" power consumption.
Does anyone have a suggestion for me as to which Sub to persue (or even another brand). I am sure any of these would be a step up from my ASW 300 but seeing that there is a $500 difference between the 675 and the 600, I wonder if the 675 is actually twice as good, seeing that it is twice as expensive?
Your thoughts and comments are welcome.

no better way then to go out and listen for yourself. Personally, I think there's a huge difference - 675 would be my hands down choice. However, if you're listening to 70% HT (curious as to what the remaining 10% represents), you may want to look elsewhere. SVS and HGS are always recommended (I know little about these), and the Def Tech Supercube I would be a great choice IMO (you can find new on-line for about $900).Anthem AVM30, Sherbourn 5/1500A, B&W CDM 7NT/CNT/SNT, B&W ASW CDM (HT); McIntosh 4300V, B&W 1NT, ASW 675 (Stereo)- Bottom

That is a great idea, to go out and listen to them. I have a wonderful B&W dealer nearby that carries just about the entire line. Perhaps I will run on over there tomorrow.
I am not familiar with SVS or HGS but will look into those brands. This sub has to do dual duty with HT and music (thanks for pointing out my % error (i fixed it)) as my better half will NOT allow two "ugly cube things" in the home.
I will report back with what my ears tell me.- Bottom

by murphy3414Has anyone had experience with the def tech ProCinema systems? I'm partucularly interested in the ProCinema 100. These will be matched with Marantz 5500. I've also been looking at the Paradigm Cinema series.
I would like to keep the speakers small but retain some feel of larger sytems....-

by pcrocettI installed the Def Tech ProMonitor 80s with (Sub and center) about 10 days ago. Depending on the source, sometimes they sound fantastic, other times not stellar (perhaps I don't have the crossover right yet). They sound nice with Jazz and Classical, but just ok with Pop. (99.9% of my music comes...-

Anyone have any experience with these? Opinions?
Im looking at the SuperCube Reference, 14" sub with two 14" radiators and 1800 watts. My plan is to get one sub, and poss a second down the road to balance it out.
At 111 lbs, it sure seems like a beast! Im gonna see if...-
