This is no April Fools Joke folks. During the next couple of days, we will be picking a day to migrate HTGuide to a new server. We will have the same reliable service we have always had, as we are not changing Hosting Services, only moving to a new updated state of the art server! Support is working to coordinate things right now.
We will announce the date of migration from old server to the new server in due time. We hope to minimize downtime while the DNS propagates to our new IP address, and service is restored. But some downtime is inevitable.
I don't want to start one of these amp wars but: Just recently set up a system with 802Ds and HTM1D in front and 804Ss in the rear. I currently control/drive the system with an Arcam AVP 700 pre-pro and Anthem MCA50 amp. I have the opportunity to upgrade the amp to either an Anthem P5 or Mac 207. I'm leaning toward the P5 since I know and like the Anthem "sound" and I would save probably $1k.
I'm a big mac fan and the 207 sounds really great, but I should specify (even though you might not care) that it isn't an autoformer amp like most macs are.
It also looks like the P5 has more power and your 802's will love that. Since you love the Anthem sound, I guess it would be the way to go. You might have to call the electrician to get more power into your room now

Sorry but what is an "autoformer" amp?
Yeah that thing about the two power cords on the P5 is kind of odd. I'm sure it is not the most power hungry amp out there so why is it the only (or one of the few) that has two cords?
Ok...new to this forum over the past several weeks. There seems to be alot of good info here, so maybe you all out there can help with my decision. Currently running five year old Integra 7.1 receiver, PSB Stratus Silvers up front, Strat Minis rear, C5 center, 6i sub. Got the upgrade bug. Can't afford...
I have the following...Anthem AVM20 with B&W 805's, HTM2 and FPM2 for rears. I am thinking of buying an Anthem PVA7 (7x125) and biamping the 805's or should I purchase the MCA50 (5x225)? Purchasing the PVA over the MCA would save me about $600 dollars. Any recomendations/experiences that may...
I've heard it said many times that the 802Ds are power hungry. Why would that be given that they are very efficient speakers?
The reason I ask is that in my own recent experience upgrading from an Anthem MCA 50 driving 5 speakers, including the 802Ds, to a Mac 402 dedicated to the 802Ds...
Hello, my name is Tom. I am a long time listener, first time caller. I have Arcam AVP700 pre/pro and Linn Ninka mains, Linn AV5120 cc and Linn Trikan surrounds. I am lookinf for an amp that will be warm and clean.
I have the amps narrowed to the Rotel RMB 1075, Anthem MCA50 or Parasound...
Sorry fellas, but I had to get your attention somehow. I am very confused lately about some of the threads regarding speaker cables. Before I start, I will say that I use a major brand sold in any A/V store. Only because at the time I bought into the whole hype (you've all heard it before) Well gee...
