    805S and CM1 - brothers? sisters?

B&W writes that "[t]he CM1 mini-monitor was designed and developed in tandem with the 805s from the 800 Series and shares that model’s driver and crossover technology, along with its remarkable musical ability."

Has anyone auditioned the 805S and the CM1 side by side? Are they similar?

My point is, what would happen if you add two CM1s to four 805S and HTM4 to create a 7.1 systems (hanging up two little CM1s for HT use...)?

    Good? Bad? Ugly? Any thoughts?

Seems like they might make a pretty good match. Specs are very similar, although the CM1 is a bit less sensitive (84dB). Also, the only matching color is Rosenut, if you care about that.

I've actually considered a second HTM4S as a center back in a 6.1 setup, but can't easily run another wire to my rear wall. Is that an option for you? A pair of SCMS also seems like a great match, but quite a bit more $ than the CM1s.

Rosenut is my color :T I think adding an HTM4 for a 6.1 setup is an interesting idea - I didn't think about that, and it's probably a natural for that given how it's wider. But then what happens if you want to turn it into a 7.1, just add another HTM4? I'm trying to think of a low-cost alternative for a 7.1 system, but maybe the answer is that this is not the place for cost-cutting... :W

        by jjahshik32
I already own the B&W 805S + HTM4 and thinking either selling them and opt for a pair of 803S or 803D.

Or should I just add a b&w asw825 sub with my setup? Does it make any big difference with adding a sub, I hear or read around that some people think the b&w 805S with...

Perfect Electronics for an 805S 5.1 system?
        by EastCoaster
        Hi Everyone,

I'm starting to see the first symptoms of Upgradtitis (mild rash, scratching, insane desire to upgrade system, etc.) and so I thought I would ask for peoples' suggestions on upgrading the weakest links in my system - the electronics.

        I'm currently 50/50 on...

Which Mcintosh amp for 805S can you guys recommend??
        by jjahshik32
I'm very interested in mcintosh amps and wanting to know what would be best to power my 805S + htm4.

I'm looking at a mcintosh 402 and I'd like to upgrade in the future with the 803D. Anyone think the mc402 would be good especially used with a yamaha v861 for 5.1 ht?

        B&W 685 or CM1?
        by bruno
        Hi,
I was thinking of buying a pair of B&W 685, but when I went to the store the other day I saw that they had the CM1s on offer (down to 575 euros from 800), which makes them even a little bit cheaper then the 685.
My first thought was to grab the CM1s, being more beautiful and presumably...
