    New options--Mac

Stopped in at my local stereo store (SLM) and was pleasantly surprised to see a pallet stacked with new Macintosh boxes.

Dealer told me that they're now a Mac dealer. They'll be setting up a 2-CH room with 802D's being driven by Classe/Mac equipment.
They're also setting up a room with 800D's, HtmD1 center and 803D rear surrounds also driven with Mac/ Classe.

This should give a great opportunity to do a Classe vs Mac comparison.

He also mentioned to me that B&W is eliminating the 700 line and they are offering great clearance deals on 703 speakers.

To be replaced by the new CM series I suspect.

I have been interested in a Classe' and McIntosh comparison with B&W's for sometime. Unfortunately, the king-of-the-hill McIntosh dealer in Arizona has been a little reluctant with in-home demos. I think this will be a great opportunity to hear the two side-by-side under equivalent conditions.

Gump, did your salesman provide a timeline?

      RebelMan,

Your right about the CM series.

They were unpacking the Mac stuff right then. They seemed to think it would take them about a week to be up and running. Should be fun...

I've owned both and preferred the Mac. However, my preference was not based on an A/B. I will be interested to hear your take on it. I found Mac so involving it's hard to describe. Easier and more accurate to listen to. But I know some who prefer the Classe sound. Both are world class and I'd be happy with either.

I am new to the forum after purchasing a Classe CA-3200. When deciding on an amp, I narrowed my choices down to Mcintosh and Classe. It was a difficult decision and I wanted to know if any other Classe owners considered Mcintosh. If so, what were your reasons for choosing Classe?

          Mcintosh & Classe

I spent the last couple of years searching and demo-ing electronics to match up with my 803D's, but after obtaining some Mcintosh equipment a few months ago I started second guessing myself on if I had made the right decision or if I should have stayed with my original plan of buying Classe electronics....

Im still testing the Denon POA-A1HDCI, which If I keep I will pay $4500.00. He also said in January Mcintosh is releasing...

          McIntosh & B&W

          Hi Guys,
I have a chance to pick up an older McIntosh MC7106 amp (circa 1992). My setup is B&W CDM7NT's for fronts, CDMCNT ccenter, and CDM1NT's for surrounds.

They are currently amped as follows
          CDM7NT - Krell Kav 250a (250 x 2 Watt)
          CDMCNT - Outlaw M200 (200...

          Hi All,

I know this has been talked about off and on but I was wondering what some of your thoughts are about choosing a power and pre amp setup from one of these companies.

I just received my new beloved 802D's and am looking to upgrade my amps which are currently the...
